I have that crap deer designed parcel in Northern Ohio. House is on W side with hay fields outside of the woods. Woods are mature hardwoods. Think Jeff drew my plot. Results are mixed from year to year. Only way I have great success is so far with N winds that occur only 3x per season
If you are a frequent viewer of Jeff's free youtube videos and it seems overwhelming or you can't take the info from the individual videos and come up with a plan, I highly recommend spending the $500 for the online class. He does a great job of bringing all together so you are able to come up with a holistic strategy for managing your property. Jeff, if you read this, this video should be included in your online class. It really filed in some gaps for me. Great work as always.
Great video Jeff It shure makes sense.this is something I have been trying to figure out how to get to my stand .with plots on two sides an bedding in the middle between the plots . access is road's coming by both plot's an two hundred yards parallel to the bedding.thank you for your help
Nice way of breaking things down!! I need to print out the thousand acres of crown land I've been focusing on and put it on a wall..reverse engineer it from my previous yrs of scouting, mappings and trails on my phone and draw out the layout of the deers house 🏠 and figure out better access points and stand locations 🍻🦌
Thanks Jeff! I cleaned out the leaves out of the 110 gallon waterholes this past weekend. No critters but a couple earthworms floating were removed. Is that all you recommend? The water is really dirty but the stench came from the soggy leaves.
Hey Jeff! Love the explanation. I was wondering what your thoughts were on 'overly' manicured deer bedding areas? || ie. man made bedding areas where one has defined all paths in and out, cleared bed spots with weed preventative on ground and such while allowing full coverage within hinge cuts? Seen a lot more videos of people heavily manicuring and was wondering your thoughts.
Anyone ever use the Deergro Jeff has talked about before or if Jeff sees this whats your thoughts after using it . I need 3 tons of lime for my plot and getting lime to it would be a nightmare if we could even figure out a way .
We talk about the science behind DeerGro in a podcast I just did at the Huntr Podcast...hope it helps you out! Lots of other stuff in there too. Not exactly sure where at in this vid tho... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZpyJ9bhQGWo.html
Thanks Jeff! Really appreciate your content! So I have bedding on both sides of my property and a food plot kinda in the middle, where should I put a mock scrape? Also there are surrounding ag fields if those are any importance! Thanks again!
I'm trying your no till, glyphosate formula, with winter rye on terrible soil this year. Problem is, I may miss the September planting because the supplier usually doesn't get winter rye until October. If I buy it in October for the following September, do you think the rye will have good germination? Thanks for all the awesome videos.
How does a guy convert solid conifer into deer bedding areas? I do have machinery to remove the conifer but am afraid more conifer will grow in its place.
Hi Adam! Removing and then spot spraying every few years. Young conifer popping up isn't a problem but they have to be killed every few years. Spot spraying for them works well! Larger openings within does too as it allows native regen to take hold. 1/4 to 1/2 acre openings...
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 perfect. I will start the removal soon. I don't have enough good bedding yet and am looking at ways to provide more. Is there anything that can be planted to help[ out? Maybe Box Elder or Aspen?
Great vid I perfect timming I just cut back from 3 to 2 plots becouse I didnt like the way I had to get in to the one ..and was asking myself if it was the right call and now I see it was
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 ya there is a pipe line that runs in a horse shoe shape thought one end so I have to plots about .3 ach . whats your thought on planting on pipelines??
