I have selected pink color with the maximum saturation and brightness. Then used a gradient to blend it with darker shades. Resulting, it looks like a lighting effect.

Dustin, you're most welcome! I would not compare Illustrator to Photoshop. These two apps may seem to be similar but they are completely different to each other. It really depends on what you’re intending to do. Your mind or creative sense is the main thing. If you are creative enough, you will unleash them with any tool.

I think I had this same problem, but realized that I had been selecting the whole grid before coloring. Make sure to first click outside of the grid with Direct Selection, and then hold shift+select the points you want to color in.

your welcome..only issue im having n this one now for some very strange reason is sir..is at 1:10 seconds when you added the mask and selected black..you have the white inside,black outside in corners.......mine turned up black inside.white on outside corners.....ughhhhhhhh again...mb its a setting wrong or something..im using windows ten with ilustrator cs6..mb your on cc and something is going wrong...not positive..tried redoing the whole project 7 different times in a row..and same thing...i will try to pm you on fb..and add image

retried this morning 4 different times...black center white on corners...i sent you a pm on facebook with the image...saddens me i keep coming up with issues on projects..had same issue with the chevy logo..go part way thru..and stumped..mb its not meant me to learn this program...hard to tell..

STARTING TO THINK THATS WHAT THE ISSUE MIGHT BE WHO KNOWS.. THINK LAST WEEK I RAN INTO THE SAME PROBLEM... I EVEN WENT AS FAR AS USING RED AND WHITE CORNERS AND RED CENTER.. PRAYING TO BE ABLE TO RESOLVE THIS WHAT EVER IS GOING WRONG..
