Thank you Mel this is very useful, with regards to pricing I think it’s a great shame how low prices are , it seems like a race to the bottom. And for new people coming into the industry they will feel undervalued and overworked . You are so funny 💫😂❤️
I use OPI in my salon and found the cost per treatment list so helpful for when I did my price list, like many salons after the first lockdown I raised my prices to include the additional PPE costs, the extra cleaning time between clients and for the fact that we’ve been closed for so long. I also think it’s important to keep in mind how many appointments you do in a day for example for a shape & gel polish treatment salon A charge £15 and salon B charge £25, salon A needs to do 6 clients to get £90 whereas salon B only needs to do 4 clients to get £100 and it’s most likely that salon B are using the better quality products as this would be one of the reasons they’re able to charge more for the same treatment! 💕
I'm a newbie and that is such useful information, I've been holding back with investing in quality equipment and product but now you've said that it makes sense ☺️👍🙌
@@malachinumba1 it’s definitely best buying the better quality products as if you buy cheap you buy twice as they say, i know it’s a lot to spend when you’re first starting out but you’ll soon make the money back if you’re doing clients full time! 😊
Blessing. I'm from Detroit Michigan in USA, and I'm not an esthetician, but I watch entrepreneur channels all the time. THANX for good in ,BTW I'm a barber 💈 so your advice is still great for me. I just wanted to say thnx, good video and I totally agree with you when you said " WHY CHARGE LESS FOR MORE WORK"? EXACLY!!! BLESS
Thank you for very helpful video! Have you got information about how to open your own salon? You've got an experience in a different salons what problems can you face on the way to opening your salon? Or is a better just to be a mobile beauty therapist? Thanks.
I have never opened up my own salon so I don’t feel confident sharing tips on that 😅 there isn’t really a better way. It’s what works best for you and what you’re goal is. Mobile works for some people, but not for others. Some people prefer just renting a room, others have a goal of owning their own salon. There are pros and cons to all so it really depends ☺️
Hi Melis, I’ve recently immigrated to the UK and started watching your videos. I’m trying to get into the Beauty industry. I’ve done a couple courses through The Beauty Guild but I’m worried that I’ll struggle to find work in a salon because I don’t have the full level 1 or 2. Do you think this would be the case? Any advice would be so appreciated!
Hi that’s a good question! There will definitely be salons willing to hire you to do the treatments that you’re trained in but unfortunately there is a chance of it being a little harder. It may take more time and effort to find a job as most look for Level 2/3. It can depend on what you’re trained in too. If you have no luck by applying online, I recommend going there in person to talk to the manager (once salons open) 😊
