This was the exact video I was looking for! Wanted to start printing my own dice but most of the tutorials on yt were pretty old. Didn’t even know about that dice designer program either. Great stuff 👍

Very nice, gonna try it today with a lower layer height (maybe 30 microns) to reduce sanding time in the first step. Edit: Safety first when handling resin: Always wear at least nitrile gloves and a respirator until the dice is clear coated. Printed with ABS Like Elegoo Clear and Ink dyes, your workflow is good. Layer height is irrelevant because of sanding but have some light of delay to let the resin move fast enough. I had some voids and bubbles but very sharp corners and a very glossy surface. Polish as fine as possible if you are gonna paint the numbers and wipe the paint of in order to get no paint smear. Finish with spray can clear coat, Airbrush clear coat or a thin layer of epoxy.

3d print a set with a nice thick support on a corner, then after wash and cure, don’t cut the big support and then make a silicone mold of them, then you can make some really sick custom designs with resin and other stuff.

Thank you for these advices ; I tried to do like you did for supports and printing, but my print failed ; with sunlu abs like clear resin ( 1.7 s time exposure) I had very ugly faces on build plate side : warping and blurry numbers... Do you have any tip to fix this?

Might be worth buying a set of 40 dice from my table top gaming after all. 😂

Can I play Dicemaker on my chromebook?

You can skip each step in the video by putting the model into the preheated resin and then curing it again

Yeah, but then you won't get those lovelly razor sharp edges.

Can you make this with PLA filament from a traditional 3d printer?

I have a question on the fin supports. The Dicemaker program has a built-in function to add them automatically. Is there a reason you're not using that? I've been trying to print a die in clear blue resin on a Phrozen Sonic Mini, but I haven't been getting good results. The numbers aren't coming out quite right, and the faces nearest the build plate keep warping. I've been doing these at 0.75mm deep, so maybe I need to go to the full 1mm?

The program didn't have fin supports when I originally made this video, an update added them shortly after I believe. It's great seeing the program still being worked on. Unforuntatley I don't have advice for number depth. I don't remember the depth I used, but I should have done deeper. I remember sanding a few of numbers off during the polishing stages.

is there an easy way to paint the numbers?
@lucasrezende7214
@lucasrezende7214 3 месяца назад
Paint before sanding, use nail polish or collored UV resin and fill in the numbers, then when you sand them down the nail polish will level with the dice's faces.

After polishing, just fill up the numbers with a bunch of paint and then wipe off the excess with a finger or a paper towel! Since it's polished and glossy, the excess paint will just wipe away without sticking

Using a rock tumbler with multiple stages of grit/sand will save your arm.
@lucasrezende7214

But that will also round up the edges, the best solution is probably to use a sanding belt/disc.
