8:55 - my dad was telling me that trucks hit that overpass all the time, and if they couldn't back out the only thing they could do to get unstuck was let most of the air out of the tires. I found it pretty amusing.
The "research flat map" sign is hilarious 🤣 I've been looking for some "rust belt" style builds on Cities to watch, specifically because i was thinking about making the Rochester, and then boom, this pops up. I'm about to binge this series. haha
Wow, just wow! So amazing! A few things I was thinking while watching - I remember growing up in the 80's - 90's we always referred to the Inner Loop as the "Can of Worms". I'm not sure they call it that anymore, but as recently as last month someone called it the "can" on the news. 2:22 Her name was pronounced like "louie's" Slaughter from what I remember. That pair of lawyers in the billboard broke up too, so now we have twice as many annoying commercials, one from each!
I watch the 11’ 8” videos and love it for the chaos and it’s now known as the 11’ 8”+8 because it was just raised a year ago to stop the you know what and guess what that’s not the problem at all and it’s so funny every single destructive time LoL 😂
I've been having a hard time adding this comment, RU-vid seems to hate links or even mention of certain sites, but if you haven't already seen it, there's something called the ROC Historic Map Viewer that allows you to one-to-one compare the city from 1935 and prior to 2012 and since. I find it extremely useful to understand how the City is "supposed" to look before motoring culture destroyed it.
9:03 i drive under this overpass every week for band practice, speaking of it being similar to the can opener in north carolina a white claw truck got stuck under it a couple weeks back lol
Absolutely blown away at the detail and accuracy of this. I'm really excited to see some of the assets yet to come as there are some excellent landmarks in Rochester. The bridge truck was a nice touch and makes me hope you'll do Syracuse some day and include the Onondaga Lake Parkway bridge. Syracuse would also be a fun build with the proposed changes to I-81 through downtown.
Iam from Rochester went to college in Chicago would take the train back beacuse it was cheaper compared to Union Station the Rochester terminal was underwhelming and smelled wierd I am glad they rebuilt it. Very surprised you choose Rochester over say Buffalo which has iconic art deco buildings so far watching this your attention detail is great!
Some electrification would be pretty cool to see (all together with perhaps a Kenosha styled streetcar network, but with modern trams? A man can dream :p )
Was about to ask what a certain asset was, then saw it listed at the bottom of the screen and remembered another reason why you are awesome. You're just so spot on, the attention to detail, your editing and presentation, bits of history, recommendations to other videos, all of it. 👏
Thank you so much! I definitely think it’s important to highlight all of the great asset and mod creators that help make this all possible. Comments like yours really make the extra effort worth it 😄
i quit CS last 5 months and now palying planet coaster and planet zoo. but man this is inpiring. im going to intall cs later thank you for you mod list.
Thank you for the station information and retrospective. It's really interesting to see how building design ebbs and flows over time. Could you please give more details to what you are building and how you are achieving the look of your detailing instead of just time lapse with music.
Love what you did today :) Btw with the Lane Controller Mod and TMPE timed traffic lights you could make traffic pass under the one side blocked off bridge underpass. It would look really cool :)
@@GaseousStranger Oh heck yeah. Thanks! I have a fairly realistic city myself, but I'm doing everything I can to avoid the work of procedural objects or having to place many props (I have my own game mod work in another game I have to finish). So far it still is awesome with mid level detailing, but once you go driving around it has many moments that aren't immersive as say, the level of detail you have. A total diorama!
I have a patreon page which is a great way to support the channel! I also have a discord server if you’d like to personally get involved and share your input/ideas/insight :) Both are linked in the description if you’d like to learn more
@@mauriceskyliners9873 Hey mate, I lost all my save files in a thunderstorm which fried my hard drive. I don't have anything anymore related to Zanerya :/
!!!???? I've been playing this on the xbox, i didn't know you have unlimited control with detail on the PC. I'd recently bought the PC version from steam but can't compete making an account at publishers failed website.
That’s actually an ability of the mod Move-it, I believe you also need to be subscribed to the mod “Prop anarchy”. Here’s a link to the temporary fix of that mod - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2862882210&searchtext=prop+anarchy+l In move-it you’ll be able to re-size trees and props using the “.” and “,” keys :)
Thanks for reaction give that a try wenn i restarted CS. I only saw that ones because my placed tree grow like one giant beanstalk in too the clouds and than the game chrased.
@@rwiggerts if you encounter any issues theres support on the official cities skylines subreddit Discord. Professionals will help you figure out whats wrong :)
@@GaseousStranger i do have the steam version. But can't create a paradox account due to internal error. Can't get help at paradox unless I have an account, can't use mods, unless I have an account. I'm stuck in a paradox.
I have all of that available with updates every month on my Patreon page along with a lot of other benefits - www.patreon.com/GaseousStranger/posts I also plan to release some other free content such as the blank map and road only map to the steam workshop later on as well :)
Yup 😄 It’s the $10 tier option. I have more details about all of the benefits on the Patreon website. It helps me as a creator and I give the proceeds back to the community of asset and mod creators that help make this all possible. It’s totally okay to subscribe for one month and grab the save file as you like, when you’d like. I’ll be posting updates monthly that will have all of my progress as I continue the project. Just a note, as I get later into the project especially, you may need a fast computer to run the simulation!
@@GaseousStranger thanks so much! I'll subscribe for sure Three questions... 1) how did you decide to pick Rochester 2) will you do the entire county and suburbs 3)how long does a 1:1 recreation take
@@frankrandall1196 1) It’s a really interesting city, transportation wise, especially the history of the transportation like the subway and streetcars, geography and natural features like the Genesee River and Irondequoit Bay, and it’s small enough scale that I believe I could reasonably “complete it” 2) I plan on doing downtown in high detail, nearly 1:1 or as close as I can get to it. Once I start to expand past downtown I plan to still try to capture the authentic feel of the city, just at a more modest level of detail. I have more information about the project in episode one. I want to be able to finish the city in its present form so that I can revitalize it from a city planning prospective, including expanding public transportation, thoughtful re-zoning, as well as focusing on pedestrianization opportunities and increasing bike friendliness. 3) A lot of time! But it’s a passion project. I would say each episode takes around 40-80 start to finish and a lot goes on behind the scenes too :)
