Hey Abbey!!! I would love to see a “the truth about” video on collagen, keratin, and biotin oral/topical supplements for hair and your research on them. I’ve seen so many different perspectives (i.e only taking them orally works, neither oral or topical works, there’s not enough research on it, etc.) and I think your thoughts on this would be really interesting!!! 🙂
@makennanelson222
@makennanelson222 Год назад
Hey! I’m not a professional but Harvard did a study that shows oral collagen is more effective. I would have recommended vitals but they have a lawsuit. I would go with biocell collagen

I have thick, wavy, medium coarse hair… my mother was a cosmetologist my whole life. I also was a cosmetologist. We swear by Biolage Conditioning Balm. It has to be the balm. The thickest conditioner I have ever found. It works like magic for me. Also, not completely washing my conditioner out. I still want to feel some of the conditioner on my hair length after rinsing. Thank you for all of the tips!!💕💕💕

Another great tip is to detangle from the bottom up to the scalp. This way you are not compressing snarls into more tangled hair. Think of it as climbing up a ladder. I blow dry the same way. All of Abby's tips are spot on. Love your channel.
@dracoded
@dracoded 2 года назад
My biggest tip is using gentle side to side motions when shampooing, instead of circular motion, and of course only shampooing the scalp. I find when I come to brushing my hair when its dry (with my fine texture) I have hardly any knots. Honestly a game-changer!
@danaelois
@danaelois 2 года назад
Could you describe the side to side motion a bit more? I try but don't think that I fully get it yet 😅
@dracoded
@dracoded 2 года назад
@@danaelois Just go gently side to side or up and down with your fingers when shampooing your scalp. Naturally most people want to go circular because the shampoo lathers more easily, but this creates tangles. Also make sure you're being thorough and cleaning every part of your scalp.
@nela7542
@nela7542 2 года назад
Tip for single hardcore tangles: spray the tangle with something very silicone-y and start gently pulling out single hairs. That leaves you with a tangle that gets super small, and gently pulling it apart is much better than using a brush
@doriecd7198
@doriecd7198 2 года назад
My best tip to help with severe tangling is to wash/condition your hair wearing plastic gloves in the shower ( not the cheap type you get in the at home hair dye kits. Buy the type that are your size-usually $15 for a box of 100) you will be shocked to see how well you can scrub your scalp- you hands will just slide through your hair. I also found an added benefit is that my manicure last an additional 3 days, as the hair is not getting stuck around the edges of your nail polish and your nails aren't exposed to all the hair products you use in the shower. this has made all the difference my tangling problem.
@danaelois
@danaelois 2 года назад
This sounds great!! What specific gloves can you recommend?
@doriecd7198
@doriecd7198 2 года назад
@@danaelois I'm using Synthetic Vinyl Disposable gloves -you should be able to get a box of 100 for $15-20 -it works really great-good luck

Finally I have gotten Wet brush paddle one, it is so good, I was so surprised, I have long, thick hair and it really helps a lot. Last brush I have gotten, some random paddle brush pulled my hair so much there was so much breakage, I have a lot of it so it did not really matter, but it hurt. Now much better. I have broken my last brush so I did a research what is good for hair, and better to get good brush.

I shampoo my brush after using oil (honestly just regularly). But with an oil treatment I usually just finger detangle

I have had to pretend to have a sensitive scalp to prevent salons from yanking through hair. Ridiculous. It’s not rocket science that it is wrong to do. I have said I would rather brush it myself for same reason. I have fine dense hair.

so, i have curly/frizzy hair that is 50 shades of damaged and i can't brush my hair(even combing) if it's anything but sopping wet or it is a living beast. even damp or slightly dry hair and it becomes a dandelion (make a wish kids!) just wondering if there is anything i could do differently (such as product or something) it gets annoying when i'm in between my washes, my hair is a tangled mess and i can't fix it without showering. i live in a complicated home situation, so i cant wash more than once or twice a week.

How do u use a shower cap without getting your hair wet my hair still ends up wet from the top of the scalp and back bottom of scalp. :( ??? Help ???
@floridagirlr6648
@floridagirlr6648 2 года назад
Try using a wide hair band around your hairline and then use a larger shower cap and make sure you over up over the top of the hair band. The hair band creates a barrier and keeps hair back. It also helps my shower cap stay in place.. the soft stretchy terry hair bands work great for this..

wouldnt using a detangling product make your hair wet/damp and damp/wet hair shouldnt be brushed (for wavy and straight hair) cause it makes it more susceptible to breaking?
@julieme7927

My hair tangles and matts so much when I wash it that I have to brush it when it's wet. There's no way I could just leave it and brush it dry.

@dapjnekerem2945
@dapjnekerem2945 2 года назад
@@julieme7927 you should check your porosity and figure it out cause tbh i think its really important. basically, your hair absorbs moisture quickly n well but also loses it quickly too. maybe you bleach or heat your hair a lot too
@julieme7927
@julieme7927 2 года назад
@@dapjnekerem2945 I don't really use heat tools but I did dye my hair blonde for a few years. I do know it's damaged and dry and breaks easily even though I have my natural hair colour back. I have bought some hair oil to try as a pre wash day thing and am also going to get some Olaplex products and see if they help. Thanks for answering.

my issue with the wetbrushes is that the plastic nubs of the bristles tend to wear off / break off after washing them several times.. and then the bristles without the nubs become very sharp.. does anyone else notice this or have this issue?
