At the beginning of this year, I tried to cut sugar from my diet. After two weeks, I eat a sugary dessert to relieve my cravings. Thank you so much for creating this video! ❤

Ooh don’t I know the struggle! I’ve found that slow and steady over cold Turkey works best. Just reducing and replacing white sugar with other natural sweeteners while you practice this new mindset is very helpful. I hope you’re not hard on yourself and giving yourself grace because white sugar is a toxic lover lol! So glad the video is helping….you can do it, keep going! I tell my students at The Mindful Nutrition School that every meal is an opportunity to start again. So if you “mess” up just pick back ip with your mindful eating plans the next time you get hungry or a craving.

Whatever kind of diet one chooses, whether it be vegan, keto or carnivore, it will take time to overcome sugar completely. So the key is to stick with it and have your bouts with sugar. Trying to fight it will only lead to binging on it. Give in to a sugar crave if it’s strong enough and don’t worry and beat yourself up about it. You know that it’s wrong, but the point is to understand that it takes time and be okay with it. Bcuz after all, sugar and carbs are the first food most people feed their infants after mother’s milk or formula stage. And then babies growing up on processed juices, candy, and what not. So we grew up with sugar in our system. That can’t go away just like that. So weening off takes time, and in the meantime, our feelings have to be factored into our meals. Bcuz it’s a natural law to feel good as much as one can. Which means, that something unhealthy is better for you if eating it makes you feel happy then something healthy if you do not feel happiness when eating it. It takes time bcuz our feelings can’t be sacrificed all the time for what we know or believe is best. Bcuz the universe is more concerned with feelings than anything else. So be gentle on yourself with weening off unhealthy foods until you gradually reform more into never eating it.

Excellent presentation. But it was a tad odd to watch all the history you gave us , then hearing mention of ayahuasca as the way you got off sugar, not too practical for a lot of peeps. The fact is that too many people are still very apprehensive of very powerful, psychoactive substances, for the experience of aya is no joke. That’s not the case with me. I did ayahuasca once, and I had a blast. I didn’t get any long term or short term healing benefit from it, and it was in a shamanic gathering setting, so this was not something that I did as the lone nut job that I usually am. But it was so fun and the golden light I experienced was wonderful! I’m aware that psilocybin mushrooms are being studied for anti-addictive, effects, but I did not know about ayahuasca also anti-addictive as well.

Hey thanks for sharing! I want to clarify that the video outlined the steps I took to get off sugar. It wasn't that Ayahuasca was "the way" that I got off sugar, but rather, it was part of the process. In my experience, understanding the history and decolonizing my diet helped me change my eating habits psychologically. Plant medicine helped rewire my taste buds and heal my organs physically. The combination of psychological and physical healing is what helped me significantly reduce the amount of sugar I consume as well as change my perspective on not seeing sugar as food but rather seeing the effects that it has on the body. And yes, ayahuasca can help a lot with addiction as well as Iboga.

Ultimately, the attitude to adopt if one is to suceed in getting ones energy, strength and mental clarity back, is that food is FUEL and a BUILDING BLOCK. When food becomes a religion, all manner of health crisis can come from that and nobody has a clue. The simplest attitude is the best. Awesome content!!!

Hi my name is Rosie and I went to the doctor and they told me that I had sugar in my urine I need to detox my body I need to get ahold do what I can to get ahold to to get sugar out of my body and to have a body again

Hey Rosie. Detoxes have been helpful for me. Especially focusing on integrating bitter herbs into my diet. I’ve also done a lot of work to address the emotional attachment to sugar. Those may be 2 things you can try to help you stop eating it.
