Would love and appreciate a video on emergencies that can occur during surgery and how to deal with these instances in surgery. I’m a surgical tech student and wanting to learn more on how to anticipate/assist in these emergencies. For instance, cardiac arrest or malignant hyperthermia. Things like that! Love your videos and glad there are people like you who are here to help and inform us. ❤️

@@drbuckparker The crazy thing about my gallbladder symptoms is my neck pain on the right side for 20 years...I write this here, so people know to look into their gallbladder when their neck is killing them, especially in the morning, especially on the right... Very weird stuff but here is the anatomy of this referred pain: the parasympaticus goes all the way down on the right, from the head to the neck to the right shoulder to the gallbladder... My right shoulder started hurting about 2 years ago plus the neck has been hurting for 20 years... I've been always wondering why do I get neck pain for 20 years!! I wish ortho doctors know about such rare symptoms of gallbladder and send us to GI... I hope this helps at lease ONE person... Maybe let ortho know what to do when our right shoulder is normal on exam and our neck is normal too?? You will save a lot of delayed dx. THX!!

Hey Buck, have you dealt with Hyperkinetic Gallbladders before? I've been seeing a lot of folks having their gallbladder removed due to 80% above ejection refraction rates with symptoms.

I had Acute Cholecystitis in 2018. It was worse then child birth. That pain was unbelievable. 3am in morning woke me out of sleep. I was so infected i had a perforation aswell.I had sludge, bile and wall thickening with sand stones. They said my gallbladder was all sand lol. Ill never forget that pain and vomiting. I had zero symptoms up to major attack. I just ate an apple and starting vomiting and boom pain knocked me off my feet. 1 week in hospital emergency surgery that morning. Thanks for this video doc!

I went to have a scan year ago for right upper stomach pain, they said all ok about 2 month's ago I started having a throbing pain in my upper right side of my back, about once a week it would come and go all day then stop. This week ive not felt right at all, yesterday had intense right upper abdominal pain like a twist and pinch of a tube I also had the pain in my back, today I've researched and think I got gallbladder issues, today is much more intense and noticed it's after I'm eating and lasting hours. I'm going to GP on Monday. If it gets worse I will go to a+e Thanks so much for video great help 👍

Sir may I ask a question? I hope I Will get an answer soon.. My husband had a problem to his stomach and the doctor said that we had to undergo ct scan and we did, and we didn't understand well what the doctor said because of his busy schedule, the result of his CT scan is he have a fatty liver ang reactive cholelithiatis, what is that mean the reactivate cholelithiatis?is he had to undergo surgery?
@BlairPurvis

My surgeon was reluctant to remove my gallbladder because I had a fatty liver. How does that condition affect surgery?

Why didn't he or she recommend a lowfat diet? The liver fat can be reversed.

Dr. Parker, can you do a video on what to do to address gallstones when you only have one or two and only one attack? Are there any dietary/lifestyle changes that can reduce the need for cholecystectomy?
@katjames7601
@katjames7601 2 года назад
Cholecystectomy is advised. Anytime you've been symptomatic and have gallstones, that meets the criteria for surgery.

Is there such a thing as a stent for stenotic CBD? Such a great video!! Tx from ophtho. ;-) , so I apologize ahead of time if this does not exist? Wishful thinking.
@drbuckparker

Yes def. lots of good uses of the CBD stent. Stenosis, injury after surgery or just a leaking cystic duct.

My ggt was 900, alt 800 all lfts high. That weekend I ate something fatty and woke up 3am with the worst sudden pain under my right rib cage that radiated to my shoulder blade. It hurt to breath in to deep.Lasted about 3 hours and just became tender. Anyway had labs drawn a few days later I said I thought it was my gallbladder but the Ct showed normal. Then I had the same pain about 2 months later. The dr order a hydra scan so I guess we will see. They also tested me for autoimmune hepatitis and hepatitis a bc all normal. All test were normal except elevated lfts. My my labs did go down to almost normal. Ggt still 300 but better than a 900. I still think it was my gallbladder

Crazy! I literally had my first episode of this last night after dinner and it was sore to touch my ribs above my gallbladder. Lasted about 30min to an hour. I’ve got nash, fibrosis, & gallstones and my doc said whenever I want it out let them know. I go to the VA hospital. That wasn’t fun. Couldn’t see goin through that for a decade. Only thing holding me back is the side effects after your gallbladder is removed. Not fun from what I hear.

I suffered for nearly 5 years not knowing what the problem was. It would come and go and I could always come up with possible explanations. Only until I had an abdominal scan to review my kidneys for damage from High blood pressure did they see the gall stones. Laprascopic surgery was a snap and no problems whatsoever afterwards. Made my life so much better. Don't fear the procedure.

Thank you very much sir. As always you made a very interesting video and I would very much like your computer programme to play with, so I am writing to Santa with immediate effect! I was jaundiced during an outbreak of infection at boarding school when I was about 15 years old. Some 40 years later I had several episodes of illness and was diagnosed with cholecystitis plus stones. However my surgeon and I decided against cholecystectomy due to my multiple previous, though unrelated, surgeries. I was just wondering if teenagers are susceptible to cholelithiasis or whether the two events are likely to be unrelated? Blessings and peace from UK

I haven’t had a fever yet but I get I do get these symptoms once a month because I try to watch what I eat, but the last two attacks I’ve have vomiting. So I’m not sure if I have infections. What tests do I need to find that out? What stage am I at?
