Dr. Buck Parker is a Board Certified General Surgeon living in Salt Lake City, Utah. This channel is dedicated to making surgical disease processes easy to understand for non-medical and medical people. I also make a lot of videos to help students understand what it takes to become a doctor and how to get there.
I couldn’t afford college at 18 so I worked full time until 24. I’m currently in the process of becoming a CNA. At 25 I Plan on starting college to obtain a pre med major. I’ll definitely be in my 30’s when applying to medical school.
I have twin 2 year olds and their mother is definitely malingering. I started working from home when Covid started, and even though I just met her everything she said just envious in the fact that she wanted to work from home. The twins were born in May of 2022, and while driving one day she stated I don’t want to go back to work, I want to be a stay at home mom. She has not been back to work since they were born. I didn’t say anything at first, but the week the babies stayed with me, she would stay often too. She has an 11 year old and 2 grown children from previous relationships. One day she was leaving and I asked where she was going and she said I have stuff to do. I told her this is not a day care, and since she is not working she is the available parent. So as time went on we argued more. She has a medical condition and claims she has a medical confirmation from her doctor. Funny thing is the only thing this medical condition stops is her employment. She wants dates, vacations, the glitz and glamour of a relationship etc. She also wanted to move in together at one point. I recently purchased a condo she does not know about. I have no plan on moving with her. Especially if you can’t even watch your own kids while I work. On top of the fact that you come with a 11 year old, you have your grandson often, and his mother is sleeping on couch. This is not even her house.
Would you please give me your opinion, but I’m not construing it as medical advice for myself. In high school during a basketball game I felt a pop under my left rib cage, left side about 4-5inches left of my xiphoid process. Since then the area has always been tender, and when I push on it, it feels like something is gently popping in and out. I’m not sure if now it is scar tissue, catching, or a facial tear, or part of my intestines, pushing in and out. I went to a hernia specialist, who barely gave me any time and said that it was nothing. Can you please help give me a little perspective?
I was just in the hospital septic and liver and kidney shutting down. Have a huge base all size hole in the leg in the crease of my right through up under the butt cheek. I'm on a wound vac right now. They ideally want it on for a month with twice weekly bandage change. It's a terrible place to try to get the tape to stick in such a naturally moist area. Then they will move on to the skin grafts. Don't wait if you notice anything out of character for scratch or a bump that pops up in your groin area.
Is anyone leaving comments diagnosed with a Bochdalek hernia or congenital diaphragmatic hernia? I was diagnosed last year. I'm 52. I have so many questions and not really able to find answers.
I passed stone in 2010 and doc said up to me, but they did see some stones but told possibly may not pass. Asked any side affects not to have it and was told NONE. Stones passing hurt more than child labor! I chose to have it taken out and I have never been the same!! I am so sensitive to so many foods. Without it, I still have to limit spicey, fried, crucifers, and beans. My body now creates too much bile. The extra comes out almost daily! I get diarrhea episodes and nothing but bile comes out. Bright yellow/orange burning liquid! To this day...still having these issues after several colonoscopies... and no diagnosis, other than IBS-D. Here were are 2024.... still no relief! 😢 I wish I had kept it.
Im having surgerie on it it be at pain some times but when it does it hurts alot and my stomach at times is really sensitive to pain is there at side affects coming off my surgery and well they give me medication.
Oh man my appendix went bad on a flight from California to Utah. Got in that night and was in surgery by 12:00 the following day. I was barely able to get off the flight and to the curb out front.
I'm probably going to start at 50-60. I didn't get to go as a kid because my parents were like "no way," and I'll be busy with having kids of my own at least until my 50's. Plenty of time to study (and teach my kids), at least. I don't make money now and never really have, and always had really hard jobs at home (basically no rest as a parent unless I was pregnant and absolutely had to take it, which is where I am now, so I get to read and watch videos, yay), so I'm not at all daunted by the idea of putting so much work into studying. It'll be a vacation in comparison, and I'll get some enjoyable mental stimulation.
First weeks after surgery everything was fine, not much pain. Recovery seemed pretty good. But now 2 months later much heavy pain that stays for about a couple seconds and then it's gone. But like a couple times per day/ week. Is this something to worry about, or is this normal because i am really an active person and do much activities. Is it just from much movement and activity, or is it something to worry about?
I nearly died when i was 12 cause of this. My appendix ruptured & it was & still the worst pain ive ever felt. My skin turned green it was on day 5 that i was rushed to the hospital.
My question is, after you have a resection it, will you still have constant diarrhea. What happens now is having to have quick bouts running to the bathroom.
Just started medical school at 36. Age does not matter. I have met many residents that are 40+. Also, everyone is going to age no matter what might as well age doing something you love.
@@paulsdrc you assume a lot. The non-doctor, and the patient were friends. The patient dared the non-doctor to watch. And it was a small office procedure. People are so quick to judge and be defensive these days. Very interesting you are so comfortable being rude to someone who sacrificed much of his life for others! Have a great day! Or don’t…idgaf! lol
I had my appendix removed i stayed in 5days when i got up from bed i couldnt breath i felt dizzy i couldnt walk for 1-6days normal when i laughed and snezzed the pain is hell
I had my appendix taken out in 1965 when I was 5 years old they never laid a hand on my belly button. 2-3 inch scar to the lower right of my belly button could barely see the scar did a really good job, they didn't touch my belly button I wouldn't mess with anybody's belly.😊😮 button why are you cutting into people's belly buttons obviously don't need to if they didn't do that to me why would they do it to anybody else
