So basically as you change phones over time you have to buy a new case. Isn’t there a universal solution that allowed me to connect to my spotting scope without having to but a new case?

Yes there is. Phoneskope does make universal adapters but there phone specific options work very smooth.

I know this is an old post. I would just keep my old phone in my pack, charge it and used it on the hunt. I have no cell service where I'm at so I don't much care about making a call. As long as the phone works I would assume you could use the same case forever.
