How to Discern God's Voice... this will change your LIFE 

Such an important topic. Sometimes as a young person I struggle with knowing God’s will but I made a personal list that I want to share with you all!! How to know if something is God’s will. 1. Ask God to confirm 2. Seek Godly counsel 3. Do you have peace about it 4. Does it line up with scripture 5. Does it line up with your life goals & values (from the Lord) 💜 From a Christian RU-vidr 💜

Honestly, I needed this video so bad. This really humbled me. I have so much time on my hands and yet I don’t read The Word as much as I should. I do read The Bible in the mornings but when I do, I don’t leave feeling like I learned something. I just lazily read my way through which is NOT the way to go about reading The Word. I’ve been praying, “Lord, help me get closer to you this week. Show me something through your word”, but how can I get closer to him if I don’t seek him? How can I learn something through The Word if I don’t open my eyes to it, if I remain with my eyes closed? Thank you so much for this video because it really shined a light into the conviction I’ve been having about where I am in reading The Word. May this video bless everyone! *Here are my notes (feel free to write it in your journal! :)* *John 10:1-10* *Jesus is speaking* * He calls you by name (direct, personal) * His voice is meant to lead you * Jesus desires his sheep to respond to his voice *Jesus goes ahead of you* * He expects you to follow Him* - The sheep follow Him because they know His voice - Jesus is not calling us to follow Him blindly - Jesus is expecting us to follow Him because you know Him, His voice, His character, and His heart for you as your loving father * He expects you to know no strangers voice* - Turn your ears away from the voices of the world (Guard your heart) - Pray for reverence of God’s word - I have access to all the riches of God’s blessings in abundance RIGHT NOW - Take out things distracting you from God - The thief comes to steal (Ex: our time with God and in fellowship with other believers), kill, and destroy (sin) *The sheep that know their Shepherd can discern his voice:* * Take inventory of things I need to shed in order that Christ become number one in my life - The word of God needs to have higher place in my life - Quiet time: Be quiet and listen to God’s word - Journal our prayers to God *Summary* * Let the Holy Spirit move * Be engaged and grounded in His Word * Strip away the things that are leading you away from Him through being in constant prayer and constant communion and fellowship with God in His word

This video has changed my life .. I’m speechless. Not only did I feel freedom while watching I felt my chains breaking throughout the video.. As soon as it ended I deleted social media and prayed to God for this to happen in my life that He is the one I want to follow over everything else. I can’t thank you enough. OH, social media. I deleted my "beloved" Instagram a while ago.. haha!! It was so strange to delete it... because honestly I was so attached to it, with all my photos/memories...But I knew it wasn't worth it. And honestly how disgusting that it was that hard to delete... It's just an app. And I haven't really missed it, and I feel freer than ever from it. So anyone debating to delete their social media because it's quite literally stealing and sucking all the life from you!! !!DELETE IT, my friend!! There is so much more joy in just living your life, being present, being content, and loving where the Lord has you rather than being so distracted by social media!!

Hi, I have to admit that I have put everything before God. I have a problem with food, with social media, with just myself and I’m so sad because of it. I need to spend time with Jesus who gave His life for me as well as the whole world.

I needed to hear this! I watched the entire video and let me tell you, every single word touched my heart. I’ve been letting myself be chained under the bondage of anxiety and obsessive actions. Doors I thought were closed were reopened. I’ve been allowing voices in my head to speak lies about my self-worth. I’ve allowed myself to be consumed with selfishness and fearfulness. I’ve neglected my quiet time. This is not the pattern I want to keep up and this video spoke VOLUMES to me. I’ve been carrying around so much UNNECESSARY baggage and I didn’t surrender fully to the Lord. God has reminded me AGAIN that I can’t do it all on my own. If I want to live my life with peace and joy, I MUST depend solely on the Holy Spirit. God is so faithful even when we are faithless!

You are so right. I had to delete Facebook. I also watched too much TV and I shut out the Holy Spirit telling me to turn it off. I repent of that. Father, please help me to listen to your voice and not the voices of strangers, including TV, social media and food. In Jesus's name. AMEN x

I’ve been so selfish and full of denial of my sin for a long time now, all my life even, and yet still God with all His love and mercies keeps telling me and showing me that it needs to change- I need to change. And I’m so so thankful to the Lord Jesus Christ for the second chance I’ve been given because without HIM I would be dead. Physically, emotionally, mentally, and especially spiritually dead. As a born-again Christian I pray in my heart continually for God to strip away all my idols and to give Him the glory He deserves. This is a #word Tay! Thank you for sharing this and allowing the Holy Spirit to use you! I’m convicted as I type this. Just the other day as I was locking up my place in the morning about to leave to go to the gym and feeling so smug about my dedication to exercise, and then literally out of nowhere, I heard the Holy Spirit say “only if you’d be so dedicated to your quiet time as well”. I literally just paused and allowed that to sink in! It’s so easy to prioritize other things but our time with God. We need not squeeze in God in our timetables but rather put Him in the Centre of our lives.

Uh wow, thank you so much. As well for your honesty about the struggles. God healed me by his grace from my eating disorder when I was about 17. From one day to another. Long time before I turned to him completely. But I always felt that he is there, and in that situation with the eating disorder, one day he suddenly spoke to me so clearly, that this "lie" in my brain did fade away immediately. It's like he wiped it out. But first I had to say "yes, you're right, it's wrong and has to stop".

Thank you Jesus! I needed to hear this. I had been praying that God would show me how to hear Him. I also struggle with emotional eating sometimes among other sins. I know that God calls me by name because when I am tempted to sin, I either hear my name being called and think it’s my mom. But I go and ask if she called and she’d say no. Or I either hear gospel songs start playing in my head. To God be the glory!

I’ve been so busy with college and I have A LOT going on it’s crazy. My quiet times have fallen through the cracks. I still pray throughout my day of at least try to and play worship music but reading the Word is important. Lately I’ve been trying to get back into things with my quiet time but I leave feeling nothing and I just feel numb and far from God. I really felt encouraged in this video to just sit in the silence with God and just be still with the Word. Thank you Taylor. I can't tell you how much I needed this video! I've been dealing with some generational struggles while also dealing with distractions. I know that I want more for my life and God wants more for me. I've gotten counseling before, but I'm honestly scared to do it again. Because I'm 16 and getting counseling also means having to talk to my parents about it. Sometimes fasting from our interests or hobbies, whether they be food, social media, streaming films/shows, or anything else, is essential to discerning God's voice. It forces us to create time in our day we otherwise would not have given to God so that we can use that time to focus on God and listen to His voice with no distraction. Fasts are usually temporary, but if the change improves one's life dramatically they can become permanent. It is important to always realize that our Heavenly Father, the Good Shepherd, is the Highest Good and we should surrender and have Him guide our lives.

I know I’m a year late to this video but I’ve had it saved to my watch later since it was published. I actually chose this video to watch today because I knew I needed to spend some time with God today but I didn’t really feel like opening up my Bible myself because, frankly, I haven’t really done that lately. I didn’t expect it to be more than simply how to discern His voice (aka didn’t expect to feel convicted 😂) but I needed it. It nailed down what I knew God had been telling me for the past week or so: to remove the idols and focus more on Him. I feel like this gave me the strength to continue to prioritize Him everyday - at the very least to give myself reminders to do so and make the effort to actually do so. Thank you for this video and for sharing the Word and what God has convicted you of as well. I also definitely appreciate the other lesson from the passage as well of being able to recognize the difference between what the world is telling me and what the Lord says is true.
