I spent a day with ZEN and Marcus earlier this year. This concept is fantastic for me. I don’t go to the range to practice golf swing anymore, I go to practice my own awareness of my golf swing. I also do this when I do a pre round warm-up. Where do I feel tight?, where is the space my body is choosing to swing into (today)? I love it, and would fully recommend a session with Marcus and his team. The most influential day of coaching I’ve ever had in sport. Enjoy!

@@RydenEden I started at 16.5 and now I’m at 12.9 - to be honest I haven’t had much chance to impact on my hcap due to Covid, but my enjoyment of the game has increased exponentially. I’m restricted to playing 1 day per week when we are not in lockdown, and so I think I do ok given the limitations. Interestingly I don’t measure my association with golf by my handicap, I prefer to enjoy the game and the way I play it, which has improved my outlook since I found Zen and Marcus. My ambition is to be single figure handicapper. I think Marcus has given me the tools to achieve that. Trev

Hold on. "The center of mass of the club has to be behind the center of rotation to use the pivot forces, to use centripetal acceleration." I'm not sure I've ever heard that explained in the hundreds of golf videos I've watched. Seems like a game changer.

This is very true. Thanks to my coach I found that my best backswing happens by me lining my feet to the left of target, "picking the club up" at takeaway and then turning late. It looks weird but it gets me back to the ball on the right line at the right speed.

Such a revolutionary way to think about training, same movements as throwing a ball, a Frisbee, punching a bag, pulling the lawnmower cord.... 🤣 Endless things we do perfectly without thinking just translate it to the shot. Worked wonders for me, I couldn't hit my long irons any further than my 6i until I let go of the "ideal swing" and just swung what's easiest/fasted for me and now everything is more consistent, straight, powerful and it's more fun!

As a golf junkie and 4 hcp, I say this is the best explaining video I have ever seen and it breaks it down to the point of effortless power and smooth feel in the golfswing. Combine this with the other motions for the lower body, with the rotating plates and you will have the best feeling effortless golf swing you ever had. Sadly I'm from Germany and I'm not able to take any real lessons from this genius. I'm doing this for at least 2 month now on my own and hope I can break par this year in a real tournament....

Absolutely spot on in us all being different and you are a first too point this out! Our hands/arms hang down differently, so why make them move or turn to a different plane position when swinging a club! The golf swing is like a maize. so we all have to go down different routs! Play great one day, then the next again day you play crap! Yeah we have all done it! So Zen - yes it would be great to have the time and work out conditions for one to find his/her swing/s out and to find our correct swing path to suit us! But most of us are weekend golfers, so when next again Saturday arrives one forgets how they swung the week before lol! Great video's Zen!

I go and play with curiosity and interest and enjoy the game and every round pull up some miraculous shots according to my mates. They often try to understand my swing mechanics and I tell them they are looking at the wrong place. Thanks Marcus guru for making golf more fun and meaningful and less of struggle and I haven't had a lesson yet. ha ha. Handicap has come down a lot. I was an excellent putter but now I look at the geometry and the read more as awareness rather than calculations and have putt the trust and feel. Good video Marcus. This is where I’m going. Especially after watching other videos about just walking up and whacking the ball with our natural movement. I’ve got an inexpensive setup to video my swing with the way I try these different moves. Just a thought here…. For those of us that hit behind the ball too upright, not shallowing the club, maybe a blue or green? Build in that shallowing, also keep the club behind, not swinging over the top. Etc… I do have some arthritis problems, in my fingers, really bad, and since getting 2 doses of the vaccine, now developing problems in my right knee. But I’m getting close to 70… I appreciate what you do. Most everything you say has helped me enjoy the game. Even though I keep getting physical challenges, I’m determined to defeat those in my own way. You have been a tremendous help, in giving me the confidence to do so…..

I had an instructor spend 45 minutes trying to get me to drop my hands at start the transition and lead with my hips. I never felt anything, I was lost. It was a total failure. I appreciate your approach and the path you are explaining. I'm a feel player. I don't get the "position approach" to learning the golf swing. I started trying more of a stack and tilt method and my scores dropped immediately. I agree with your philosophy, find what works for you. Not for the 99% of others. Great job! Love your methods!

Another great video. Also so simple to understand. Worst thing I ever did at the beginning of Spring was to film my swing. Made me change to try and make I look proper and it threw me off. When I went back to what felt natural I instantly hit it better, farther and scored better. Now with my surgeries and upcoming surgeries I will have to rework the swing. I can easily take this lesson and find what works for me after healing. Thank you.

This makes so much sense!!! You don't see everyone throw football like Tom Brady, a baseball like Nolan Ryan, or shoot a basketball like LeBron, they go with their best based on their physical traits. And I am that idiot that watches all these other channels worrying about being in the slot, lead with the hands, keep your elbow tight, etc... I went out to play yesterday(1st time in 6mos) having these thoughts and thought about Marcus' teachings. Then I let my body do the work, I wasn't hitting those bad shots or getting frustrated. I'm going to stick to this plan so I can get out of my head and enjoy the game. #GospelofMarcus

I'm here cuzz after 4 years of working on a swing I'd hit a wall (9.0 index). Was regressing. Your idea of 'momentum' - especially concerning the backswing, has helped me to, finally, feel things described for eons in the golf world; I was 'placing' my body parts and not reacting. So, I played my first round with these ideas (after 2 days of whacking it into a net and filming it). Two things... 1) It feels really un-constrained - which is your whole point I guess. But those 'constraints' had gotten to where they felt natural. Comfortable even. This idea you propose feels really 'out there'. Took some getting used to. "Feel vs Real" is always in my mind: on video the swings look really, really good; I'm not all over the place like I sense I am, based on the positional techniques I've been using; the hips work the best I've ever seen them. 2) It takes some re-conditioning of the brain. And I've come to conclusion the swing actually starts before you take it back. Had nasty 3-hole stretch where the conscious and sub-conscious collided for a bit (+2, +1, +2 = +5 for a three hole stretch. Ugly, nasty, clanky swings). But I finished +6 for the day, so there's that. Short irons seem to feel like a 'lighter' version; I've been a good iron player but not so much today; it's like I'm actually hitting my long irons better than my short ones this way. A reversal. Thanks, sorry to go on but, you've awakened me from the navel down...wait, that didn't sound right..you know what I mean :)

Love this video, makes so much sense. I just did a quick calculation, during my reaction time of about 0.3s, my hands move at least 3 feet during my swing, and the club head much more. This means that when I feel that I’m at impact, my hands are already a few feet past! So it makes a lot of sense to only think about the shape of the swing, not a single position at a given time. My mind is lagging many feet behind reality.

Isn't everything in the golf swing start or determined from grip, stance, posture/setup/fundamentals? Many golfers, new and experienced can come in and be all over the place with the fundamentals. What do you teach them? Doesn't there have be basic fundamentals with some freedom since everyone interprets the golf swing differently? My meaning is that if someone never saw a golf swing before and you gave them a ball and a club and told them the task, how would they compete it, how would you correct them to accomplish those fundamentals that are needed to complete the task of hitting the ball to target repeatedly with speed and efficiency? I absolutely love your channel and content btw. I sure wish I could afford a trip to your location for lessons.

Great stuff Marcus I have been easing in to your philosophy over past few months and it works! That feeling of freedom is fantastic. Its taking a little time to dial in complete accuracy but hey that's golf. But can dial up fades, draws, and straight shots. Keep em coming.....

Marcus another informative video. I love the way you go through the motions explaining what you're trying to get across. I can advise I still get headworms during a round, but your videos have been invaluable at getting rid of permanent mechanical thoughts. Great work and if I'm ever in the your hemisphere I'm definitely coming for an in person lesson.

I'm coming to see you after lockdown ends. Been meaning to make time to do it for ages. I've already told the Mrs that there is loads of good things to do up your way and we can have a nice weekend away together 😆
