One thing some have brought up with algae is as it dies off it can sour the media. I’m not sure how much of a problem it would be for S/H as you flush the pots, but I can see why some people put the containers within a dark pot to avoid it growing Nice job! I have to confess, it was starting to make me a bit twitchy watching all the new growths escaping from the pots 😂

Always been a bit scared to separate plants. My orchids are blooming in the UK sunshine though. All my plants are in water, usually in tea. Best thing you ever suggested.

💚 Always been reluctant to separate orchids with pseutabulbs. I don't know why. I separate house plants with rizones with no hesitation. Pretty similar. Good explanation.

Can you cut a part of cattleya without an emerging pseudobulb?

Hive mind, help! Some of my orchid roots are “splitting.” I don’t know how to describe it. It’s like they come to a hard end and then grow a new green root from it. Is this good? Bad? A clone? Thank you!
