Very underrated yt channel and a very informative video. The only thing I would recommend is to maybe lower the volume of music when you are speaking and then keep it to the volume at regular when not speaking/doing visuals and timelapses.

I 100% agree. I need to work around my editing software a little more as the one I was using for this video was very rudimentary. Thank you for watching and your kind words!

@@TheIronMason That's absolutely fine. You've earnt my subscribe and I know how fidley and overwhelming editing software can be. That kind of stuff just comes with time. Honestly, I think just keeping a lower volume throughout might help you being heard better. Wishing you the best and success for your channel man, I have a feeling you're gonna get big.

The molds are Very top. I put construction iron on the washeres and a lot of cement to make them strong.

That seems like a little more work than the prefab molds and a quickcrete bag for $7

Hey I have a question... can I cover them with D seal ? I think that could help to but I don't know if it's a good idea xd
@TheIronMason
@TheIronMason 2 года назад
I covered them with Raptor Liner and have a video I need to edit and post. Its helped to keep the outside from flaking but it doesn't penetrate very far. You'd need to apply more than a few layers.

Can you use Quickcrete quick set concrete the red bag for these kind of weights IK dumb question
@TheIronMason
@TheIronMason 2 года назад
Not a dumb question at all. I'm sure you could. Though, if you do use Quickcrete I'd recommend using a mix that has a 5000psi rating. If you have a moment I'd recommend watching my six month review on concrete weights as well as my impressions on the cheapest bumper plates on the market 👍

Don't believe you mentioned in the video or in the list of items, but what were the fibers you were mixing into the concrete mixture and do they really help that much with keeping it together and making it stronger?
@TheIronMason
@TheIronMason Год назад
I think I do mention that the fibers are fiberglass and they were included in the purchase of the concrete molds. You can check out the owners breakdown on his channel I believe its stix and stone.

i would add some like 9 guage steel or some sort of wiremesh. itll be stronger and u can just drop the weights

On your note about the concrete dust: you should wear a full seal respirator, not a dust mask. Also (I'm sad to say) facial hair reduces respirator effectiveness, as air can leak in much easier, so you should be clean shaven before working with concrete.
@TheIronMason
@TheIronMason 10 месяцев назад
Dually noted! I will take that advice. Though, it is highly unlikely I will shave my beard just so I can do things involving concrete. I'd rather die tbh lol

You should also get a water reducer plasticizer it lets you use less water and make the concrete move more fluidly there’s also another thing you can put in the concrete that’s a sodium silicate Densifier it crystallizes the calcium in the concrete and makes it way stronger and sort of seals it so it won’t feel so chalky as you use it. If you run out of the fiber chop you can find a stucco supply store near you to get fiber chop or by this woven weaven fiber cloth and cut it up you can also seal the plates with SA2000 to close the poors of the concrete so the don’t absorb oiled from your hands to stain them.

waste of time and money , concrete will dry and 50 lb will become 10lb ...so do fishing or hiking etc ...
@TheIronMason
@TheIronMason 6 месяцев назад
Funny enough after drying it didn't reduce in weight at all on my end.
@JWill6969
@JWill6969 6 месяцев назад
This isnt true at all. While adding water to the mix adds weight to the initial mix it does not change the volume of the concrete itself. So as long as you weigh out 50 lbs dry, add water, and let the concrete cure it will be around 50 lbs. Usually a little over because a tiny amount of moisture wont dissipate. (like a pound or 2) this is a great cheap solution 😊
@JWill6969
