So thankful for this video! We crafted our invitations this week. Got 12x12 cardstock paper from JoAnn's for the pocket fold and found a free template online and printed on cream colored cardstock (also from JoAnn's) for the pieces on the inside. Printed at home and saved a ton of money. We even decided to wax-seal our invitations (though be warned, it will cost more to mail your invites if you do this - but we saved so much money making the invites, we felt it was worth it).

This worked out perfectly for me, I used 12x12 loose purple scrapbook paper from Joann's . I was able to get 1 fold, the insert pocket, and the background for my accommodation card out of 1 sheet. Now each sheet was 99 cent from Joann's but waited for a sale and got it for 29 cent per sheet, the I bought gartner studio diy invitation set from Walmart, 50 for 19.00, in silver they also had gold. But this brand fit the measurements of the pocket fold perfectly. I thought I would need to trim, but no need. The Gartner set came with response cards and envelopes, invitation that I customized right on their website , and big envelopes, so that's 14.50 for 50 sheets of paper and 19.99 for the Gartner set plus I did run out of color ink so another 20 dollar ink cartridge. I would say this cost me 55.00 for 50 invitations that I love.

This was the best tutorial I found! I found the Recollections Adhesive Tape (Red) 1/4" was the best adhesive to use. And it all came together easier if you really creased your folds. I could not get the hang of cutting the trim with a X-Acto knife, I used my paper cutter.

hey there, thanks for posting this video.. I got a large order.. your video is the best.. my only adjustment was I cut the folded pocket tabs to make them more skinny.. (I needed more inside pocket space)..this was perfect thanks..-deb.

I am working on these now! Such a great video, thank you! The only thing I noticed is that you said half way is 4.5 but half would be 3.5. I think you may have said 4.5 because the mat is flipped upside down so half away from 4 upside would be 3.5 but look like 4.5? I'm not sure.

I've bought these before and noticed that only one side of the paper is shiny, and the other side is kind of dull. Were your invitations like this when you opened them up - the inside is more dull compared to the outside? Also, what brand of double sided tape did you use? Thanks!
