How To Do 3D Embroidery With Foam & Avance 1501C

In this video, we are sewing 3D puff foam embroidery on a hat. You will usually see this type of embroidery on baseball caps, sports hats and alike. You can also do it on flat surfaces and come up with creative embroidered items.
There are three (3) key elements about the design:
1. Design Density
2. End Must be Capped
3. Pull Compensation
Keep in mind that design must be digitized specifically for 3D.
Doing this type of embroidery can help you win more customers and get more orders by doing something many of your competition won’t offer or haven’t taken the time to learn.

How do u set up the embroidery machine to stop? Or are u suppose to sew the entire logo then put the foam on? Im confused

Hi Mr Dunbar I'm an up & coming fitted hat designer. I draw, another digitizes my drawings, then I take it to get embroidered. I want to make a few designs that are very dense but the places I've gone so far are fearful of using the 6mm embroidery foam I want to use compared to the thin 2mm foam they normally use. My next move will be to purchase and learn everything about it and begin test stitching. But I need some advice on what machine can perform the needs I have. I've been looking at Tajima and Redline simply because those are the machines my hats have been embroidered on in those embroidery shops. Do you know if your brand can stitch over very thick embroidery foam? I have 6mm but want to go thicker.

Absolutely! You can use the 3D foam on any commercial embroidery machine!
