I show you how to do a basic pre-start on a prime mover. #roadtrain #roadtrainadventures #roadtrainsaustralia #loading #truck #trucks #trucking #truckdriving #prestart
Thanks for the video. Your lad is about when I started going with my Grandfather on the farm and taught me so much. I started driving a small tractor in the fields in the summer when school was out when I was about 9 years old. You never forget those years.😁
Great video Johnno, good to see your son David taking an interest. My youngest son first came out in my F10 when he was 3! Now he has a daughter the same age, but yet to go in his Scania. I guess it's because of the child seat laws, didn't exist back then, he sat on the bunk 😉. Look forward to the next one 🇬🇧
G’day David and Johnno, it’s really great to see you helping Dad with these very important checks and look over the prime mover. Thanks mate. It’s an easy way to learn and could help you decide about what career you would like to do. Thanks to you both for a video that reminds me of my father and I many years ago. Safe travels on the roads.
Good day Johno, Great seeing you together with your son & doing a pre check. I was thinking you forgot to check the lights especially the brake lights otherwise a faultless execution of a pre check. Especially here in Melbourne there should be more of it especially brake lights. Cheers Louis Kats 👍
Every time you take the radiator cap off you should check the seal on the cap . It shouldn’t show signs of being swollen nor should it have started to grow up the sides. It should be flat all across the bottom. A cap seal that is growing up the sides will give problems with expansion of the cooling system as it stops the cap from operating at its designed pressure. This can cause over pressurisation of the system that can result in blown hoses or damage to the radiator itself.
:) Great Job, David! Caro, my daughter, always used to be with me when I worked on my vintage cars... Next week, we'll going on a roadtrip to the UK for a week. She's 18 now and eager to drive, we're still discussing, which car to choose ;) And interesting to see the differences of the trucks. My Scanias got disc brakes all around and air supsension at the front axle also, the last one had 770hp from a V8 for (officially) 40tons only. Your 909 will be a bit more durable, I guess! Thx for sharing, have a good time down under!
Johnno and David ,Good morning from Ireland 🇮🇪. This video reminds me with my father, and he showing me the way around a bulldozer and tractors 🚜 Listen to your Dad. Take all his knowledge, and if you're heading down the road as a truckie, you'll be way ahead of the rest. David, your dad is pretty good at strapping down a load and sheeting it. Keep a close eye on him when he is doing that .not many can.. Speed isn't everything either. Keep yourself and everyone around you safe. Best of luck to the pair of you. 👍🇮🇪
@@RoadTrainAdventures reminds me of my son, washing trucks when he was just 8. He’s now 25 and his the pilot of a new 610 truck and dog. I guess it gets in the blood hey mate.
Hi johno love your videos and love how your son takes interest in the truckin life..how many flats or blowouts do you have a week and can you do a vid on changing a tyre ...make a mile..
@@RoadTrainAdventures Just was watching The Homeles Truckie. Did 2/3 trialgle around Deniliquin. Melbourne-Mildura-Hay. To continue his trip to Brisbane.
Great vlog, and great to see Dad & son working on the truck , your son is so enthusiastic, and a future truckie in the making, cheers from Downunder 🦘🦘🦘❤️🇦🇺
G'day Johno great to see the next generation willing to learn about the transport the pre Start is the most important part before the key is turned now days there a lot of blokes that can't be bothered to take the time to do it for the sack of 15mins could save your life happy travels mate .
Pre-start? Don't you have to start the engine to do the pre-start? Well once the engine is started no longer pre-start is pre-start. In USA is called pre-Trip. You do it becouse you go on the trip on on the start. Part of the pre trip is testing air breakes. Engine has to run for that. So that is no longer pre start
@@RoadTrainAdventures I know, I know, it's stil pre-trip. People who don't know it will call it pre-start and will get those who know it upset. Its better always call things properly and educate people properly
@@RoadTrainAdventures Love your video's concerning road train trucking in Australia. Question : are you parking the dolly's just like that without locking ? Overhere in Holland and Europe they would be stolen I expect...
I have seen dead bulls on the side of the road in the NT, Brahmans too, not good to hit one of them. I suppose a butchers knife could come in handy to get a T Bone or two.
I notice the truck is Victorian registered, back when I was involved in transport in Aus. Interstate trucks were IS registered. Is this no longer available or is the truck used for intrastate goods. You guys are based in deniliquin in NSW, why is the truck not registered in NSW or is that truck used to cart Victorian Intra goods?
They don't do the Intestate plates anymore. They are another called National Heavy Vehicle. They're more expensive. I understand that it's cheaper rego in Victoria over NSW.
Remember when a lot of trucks were registered in South Australia, all that was needed was an address to get their cheaper rate. Like Panama registered ships I suppose.
Great to see David's enthusiasm in working on the truck, another truckie in training. He couldn't have a better teacher than his dad. That was my experience with a dad who patiently taught me and in the process became my best friend.
Hey there Johno and David, thank you very much for this interesting video. David is a very lovely boy and an excellent assistant 😍 I guess David wants do become a truckie too 😃 My son is also truckie since three years
Awesome. I think David will be more on the mechanical side of things. I realise your son followed in your footsteps but in hoping David does something closer to home.
@@RoadTrainAdventures Yes mechanic is good. I imagine that you wish something closer to home for David. You want the best for him, this is right 👍 To be honestly I am always a bit in worries when my son is driving his truck. But I know he is a very good and responsibly driver
@@RoadTrainAdventures I agree, I always said: my kids first. 14 years ago my wife died with cancer, I took care of my kids alone as best as I can. I spent every minute with my kids, I did all for them. So they grew up and now they are wonderful kids, I love them and they love me over all. I am so happy with them 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Johno, big fan of your videos. In a video could you please explain how the red dot roof mounted air con condenser works and the reason for mounting it on the roof and not in front of the radiator?
Hey mate, thought i might've seen you driving in Adelaide through the week. Was gunna call you up but chickened out lol. Either way, great videos and travel safe 👍👍
