Idk if you know this, but putting the car in competitive mode activates launch control. That’s why the car “bogs”. It wants to stop at 2,000 rpm cause that’s the stock launch rpm it’s set too.
@Diablo 4 Tester / CA I'd say hold down on the traction control button till stabilitrak and all other forms of traction are off. Then press brake down firmly with left foot. Lightly lay into the gas to desired rpm. I wouldn't hold redline or do it for too long...camaros love to eat up tires. Also manual mode is best for donuts, u don't want the trans to shift while ur fluctuating rpms.
I friggn love this. You described my first Camaro donut experience exactly 😆 Thanks for the tips! Now if I could just figure out how to properly utilize that damn ebreak button...
I've had my '17 SS M6 since well 2017 and did my first burnout today. But I was in competitive mode, didn't know otherwise. It did stall first time, second I got it to work but it was bogging down, I'll not use that next time lol
first donuts i did that i could do a decent circle was just with traction off.till i saw the stabilitrak thing, held it and it was all off and its difficult
Performance Traction Management (PTM). Took me forever to find that out. Do a video on launch control. How does that work in the performance menu? EDIT: What did you have to do with your Electronic Limited Slip Differential when it threw a code? What was the code?
Sigh, @viciouSS6.2 @Outlaw Its not Launch control doing that, that is Stabilitrak which can ONLY be turned off in Track Mode with comp mode on. You have to be in Track Mode and turn on comp mode, to use line lock to do a burnout (same as doing a brake torque with TC off in sport mode) Or You have to be in Track Mode and turn on comp mode to use Launch Control. Launch Control does not work in Sport mode. Stabilitrak is the name given to GM's proprietary Electronic Stability Control (ESC). is considered a standard safety feature on all cars sold under the GM family. ... Traction control is any system that uses a sensor or series of sensors to tell the car when one wheel is slipping. When that happens it cuts power to that wheel to regain traction. So yes @Outlaw was correct the engine bogs down, and is not because of Launch Control, Launch Control will not allow you to go over a certain RPM while the brake is applied, and it does not cut power to the wheels once you release the brake, and I assure you if you put the pedal to the floor in Launch Control, your tires will brake loose and your RPM's will skyrocket. The only difference is you do not have Stabilitrak in Track Mode to compensate for loss of traction.
Does this work for an automatic camaro and also you said you did drag racing what mode do you need to be in for drag racing can you put it in sport or does it have to be in track or does it not really matter. Looking at getting a camaro,
