Very nice ! Had a professional painter tell me, don’t worry about what people think of your technique if the final product looks amazing you did it right. He said everyone does things a little bit different. The guy below that says it’s a throw away car ??? Really ? That car May mean the world to the person you are doing it for , people can be really insensitive.
PHARRAWAY so tired of people being mean to each other, we are all apart of the same human family no matter gender, race, beliefs ect.. it’s not that hard be be kind, and kindness is universal.
Cesar Orozco why would anyone pay for a paint job on what is essentially a disposable car is exactly what he said. Now it’s nice that you are trying to look for the best in that comment but it was crappy anyway you look at it .
I'm restoring my late fathers very custom 91 454 SS truck. It has fiberglass ground effects and a bunch of goodies. He fixed it up 20years ago, and unfortunately I crashed it a couple years ago, someone pulled right out in front of me. I wish I would have wrote down all the advice about painting he gave me. I didn't get much hands on experience with him due to his cancer and being sick. He was a professional painter in Ceder Rapids IA. He painted it in a pearl blue Imron, it flips from blue to a purple. I have the paint code, however I've never painted, I'm afraid of getting the evil tiger stripes he said inexperienced painters generally got. I will definitely be watching more of your videos.
Beautiful! I am in awe. I just did a vintage sewing machine with a spray-can kit of Candy red. In the side yard under a tree with plastic on the ground. Good ventilation but nerve-wracking for bugs, dust and the occasional breeze. Actually came out really pretty. Probably will wet-sand and polish the machine bed tomorrow. Whew!
This guy is a good painter but a tip for beginners is to never stop or start spraying on a panel. Start off panel and finish off panel. Once you can eyeball your color and flake flop on the fly you can get away with it but when you're starting out its best to walk the car (like he does when he's doing the candy coat). Great vid. Looks like your tune is about what i've been running for the past decade as well.
This is the beauty of Paint Correction, Bodyworks/refinishing, custom paint work. People will always have something to say weather it is negative or positive, sadly negative people will always outnumber the positive ones, but positivity will always outweigh negativity. Good job brother keep doing what you doing. I am a detailer who is now got into real deep shit putting myself into bodyworks and painting without the financial stability and a strong background in bodywork/collision. Cheap tools, courage, self-confidence, good intent, humility, gratitude and a zero fucks on other people's judgment. Quality work comes from time that equates to money agreed upon. I always have overdelivered and not focus on profitability so I find myself broke but happy and satisfied.😁
Hey homey that’s all you need is the passion and it definitely sounds like you have more than enough to learn auto pay give it a try if it doesn’t work the first time well redo it like they all say PRACTICE MAKES 4 PERFECTION
Man brother you make it look easy...I learned a lot from this thanks...you and spraywaycustom are some of the best on youtube that aren't "production guys"...you have a hard job teaching us DIY guys to paint with professional results...but you do a real good job...thanks again brother
Excellent spray technique, he sprays like a robot, very even on the candy! This guy is proof you don't need a state of the art, shop to do a nice candy job! I hff ave been a body and paint guy for over 30 year's, and my hat goes off to this guy!
I was with you for every pass of the paint gun...man you make it look easy! Yeah I know, time behind the gun makes the difference in what you can do and what I can envision me doing as a total novice (with a rattle can). I am eager to see the finished work, because like everyone else, "I like Candy!" Thumbs up.
Saw my first "Candy Apple Red" paint job as a kid looking at model cars on display at "Nahas Department Store" in Gardena, CA . It was something new and exciting then and now at 71 I'm still not tired of this color. I suppose that color will be around as long at there's paint.
Thank you for this. I've been a mechanic for over 32 years and always wanted to learn how to paint cars. I've never done it. I can do some airbrush artwork, but that's it.
Congratulations!!! Must be so satisfying creating such a beautiful finish..I know this is for experienced painters as it looks a bit tricky getting the candy even. I would really like you to explain and demonstrate how you do a control coat ....thanks.....brilliant
You've obviously got a lot of experience; the end product shows that. Very pristine job! Forget the people telling you to do this or that; advice is fine, but some folks can't leave it there...
Nice job dude, especially considering your makeshift booth and hobby compressor. Solid technique although I always do my first two coats of candy real tight (75% overlap, 1/2 trigger) to ensure real even coverage. As you know, once a candy develops issues early on such as blotchiness or tiger stripes, it is near impossible to save it in subsequent coats. Take care of yourself bud, get that skin covered up, it is your largest organ and a pathway for those iso's to enter your bloodstream.
@@PHARRAWAY really?! thats unbelievable! you pulled that nice job by working on that pipsqueek compressork (no offense). you're crazy talented, brother.
Great job. Working in that tight space didn't seem to slow your roll. Technique is on point. Iwata is a solid line with an excellent reputation. The quality shows. Keep `em coming!
GOOD JOB BRO LOOKS REALLY GOOD, I APPRECIATE YOU RECORDING THE KANDY PART, YOU MOTIVATED ME TO TRY A KANDY COBALT BLUE I WANT TO DO, GRACIAS BRO! CAME OUT CLEAN NO DIRT NIBS
Im thinking you need a spray booth my friend! Or line the inside of your garage with metal sheeting and install some duct work to create a down draft booth! Basically you just plum the walls down low in the corners as your intake and the ceiling as your out take and of coarse filter filter, filter. But a furnace blower some ducting and some metal sheeting !
Can i just say I love that you have both a Spanish and an English version of your videos, it really offers your videos to a much larger market of views. I’m totally subscribing because I want to learn everything you have to offer about painting cars. 😍
when I was taught to spray I was told its not good to release the trigger all the way. should keep the air flowing through the tip never point the gun at the vehicle when first pull of full trigger the gun could possibly spit slightly each time you release fully and pull full trigger. I have over 30yrs behind the gun so I speak from experience but my comment is meant constructively and to help anybody who wants to paint some shit! become a better painter educate and equip just one little tip...
Ah, the mystical "Candy"of near legendary status. It's creation is not found in Voodoo, rather it is science and methodology - with a lot of tedious work from skilled craftsmen. In my opinion, the painter that uses candy paints successfully, is among the highest order of artist in the Applied Arts. It seems that you have found a home, however ethereal, within this order of your craft's peers. Your work is beautiful, and I too can't wait to see that which you have endeavored to produce come to complete fruition. Were an average Joe wanting to get into painting cars and such, what would you consider to be the minimal equipment needed? Air compressor (size), paint gun(s), hose(s), mixing equipment - what are the "must haves"? As a carpenter needs a hammer, saw and tape measure, what does an aspiring painter need? Thanks for sharing your candy with us. I subbed and turned the bell on.
this is the compressor I have ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1pUlNw8enVc.html and this are some ofthe gunsru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-htWUqEFJ7jQ.html
Great work my friend! One thing though! You said you would spray a control coat at the end of the silver to prevent mottling. I didn't see you spray or talk about how you did your control coat. Can you explain how or better yet show everybody how to use the control coat to prevent mottling? Sure enjoying watching. Tom
Top notch work as always. I really hope you have a supplied air respirator to use while you spray the clear though.. Talk about a cloud of isocyanates! After I did my homework and looked in to iso exposure and all the hazards of two pack painting I picked up a supplied air setup used on ebay for something like $200. Heck, even a brand new hobbyair setup is only like $500. I hope you understand that I only mention it because I am always excited to see new content from you, god forbid you ever have to stop painting and doing what you love because of health issues.. Stay safe brother.
Crazy! Best apple candy red I've seen so far other than show cars in real life and epic photos of them. No one else has delivwred that level of candy richness on video
That paint job turned out incredible brother!!! With the ventilation you have there, your work STILL looks like a work of art my friend!!! EXCELLENT!!! 👍👍
Nice work! I've been trying to get started on painting my bike for a few months now. Its been so incredibly hot and been working so much I don't have the energy on my days off to get anything done lol. Finally started working on getting a dent out of the tank. That was real pita as it is next to impossible to get to from the inside. I had an old crappy tank I tried to use my stud welder on to get the hang of it but the metal was so thin the studs would melt into the metal and even slightly pulling would rip holes out where the studs were welded so I couldn't go that route.
Yes it's a bit harder on gas tanks but they do have some studs for the welder that will take thin metal out maybe go that route just don't get discourage you'll get the hang of it
New subscriber here. First let me say that you sound like my cousin in brownsville. I've painted a couple complete cars and my work is getting better each time. When i paint i wear long sleeve to prevent sweat or hair. Your work looks great and i like the detailed explanation. One question. Would it be better to start at the bottom of the car and carry it over to the other side instead of starting in middle of hood? Keep the videos coming. 👍👍
Does it have a burnt orange pearl .i did one something like that with a red like that and i put a burnt orange pearl and mico 24k gold looked really nice in the sun.....nice job there once again mate 👍 (oh your compressor sounds like its about to shit it self lol.)
???? I'm new to painting getting ready to do my first project. I have a golfcart with a single stage paint job in good condition, I'm going to use the Tamco Clear and using my purple gun I just bought.. My question is which clear should i use and how many coats of clear can I put on it. I want to get the max shine??? Thx... I enjoy your videos...
