This is such a great tutorial. I am 35 and have never been able to French braid my own hair. After watching your video, I was able to do it really well the first time I tried! For some reason I think it helped that I did not look in the mirror.

You aren't actually supposed to comb curly hair. Just keep it hydrated and use your fingers.

I did finally did it! I watched so many other videos and still couldn’t get it. Now I know what to do. My daughters hair is very long down her back and curly so I had the brush and smooth every strand as I added it to the braid. I can finally do it after finding your video 😊. Thank you so much for this video. I never learned how to French braid when I was younger and must of my friends knew how. I am a preschool teacher and I occasionally have to fix and if my girls hair and I usually do a quick ponytail. But now I have a 3 year old daughter and figure it's about time I learn how to French braid! I've never been able to French braid, but I can do the normal braid. I've watched some French braid videos, so I know the idea and what to do, but just couldn't get the braid started; how much to hold, the position and figuring how to hold it etc. But this was very nice and simple and CLEAR! I think your daughter's fine sleek hair helped show each section so nicely. 😁 So, today I actually completed my first French braid and it wasn't too bad!! This so cute, I normally do my daughter, autumns hair in a normal ponytail. She has a play tomorrow and I am going to do it. Wish her luck!

Thank you so much. I've been wanting to french braid my daughter's hair for ages. I've watched alot of video but yours was the easiest to follow. I did it fir the first time today and though it wasn't as neat as you made it, I think it came out pretty well. The only thing I realized for me is my daughter's hair is so thick, it's better for me to do it while it's still wet. Thank you again for helping me learn to do this.
