Excellent video and teaching! Nothing like the Hong Kong Seam Finish, always loved it!

This was a common finish back in the day before sergers. If you have a vintage machine, they usually came with a binder attachment. You would cut 15\16 bias strips and attach them through the scroll on the binder to the seam edge just like this.

As someone who’s sewn for over 60 years (yikes!) it’s GREAT to see someone pin in what I consider the “right” way - perpendicular to the stitch line. I see so many quilters pin parallel to the stitch line and then wonder why their match-points shift around.

i had no idea this technique existed but I love it ! especially if it can replace a serger stitch. really gives a beautiful finish. thank you for this very clear explanation !
