How to do a Power-Cycle / Reset of a Dual battery Lenovo Laptop (eg. T440 / T440s)

mate thank you so much. last time it happened i was charged £35 to fix it and he said that he just reset it and it happened again now and i googled it how to and found this vid and took me 15 seconds to reset from the back of my laptop without removing anything and it is working. thank you so much

Excellent video. Finally solved this issue by pushing the reset pin at the back and unplugging the internal connector. Before this video, I tried disconnecting the battery and uninstalling the battery driver, but none of that worked. The only feedback is that I was prompted for the windows activation key again, which fortunately was handy. The batteries are charging now! Thanks

hi Stephen. i've had this problem once before. the laptop worked normally but when i plugged in the power supply, nothing would happen and it won't charge. then the next day i tried it again and it charged normally. now after a week or so i have the same problem again. all of a sudden it doesn't recognize that it is plugged in. i've tried both methods that you have shown and it still won't charge.

I have a Lenovo thinkpad x220 laptop adapter that does not work correctly, when I connect it from AC current it gives current to my pc, then after a few minutes it cuts, I disconnected it from AC, leave it for a few minutes, then after I still connected it to AC and in my pc too, it gives current, after a few more minutes the current cuts in my pc. Is it that it gives current intermittently? What's the piece that can cut the power like that?

this keeps happening to me, when the battery drains completely I have the same issue and sometimes just restart while I am working on it any suggestion as what need to replace

Hi! I have a different problem... I tried your procedure, either to press the reset button and either to disconnect the internal battery, in order to do a reset but doesn't fixed my problem. I bought a second hand Lenovo Thinkpad T440s with Win10 operating system and with the following problem: when the PC is NOT connected to the power supply, the battery panel indicates that battery 2 (external) is in use, but in reality the system uses the battery 1 (internal). For this reason, when battery 1 runs out, the PC switches off without warning and without switching to battery 2 ... Do you have any other suggestions? I'm going crazy! :-( Thanks a lot!

I had this issue few times on my T450s. I rarely used this laptop. So each time I fixed it opening the laptop by unplugging and plugging back the internal battery. However now even this is not working. what do you suggest? I am thinking maybe the motherboard is gone after few times of opening and closing?
