Other than raw venison, my dog accepts food if I sous vide raw food (no bones or ground bone only) at 150 for 20-30 minutes depending upon the type of meat. I also increased the offal to 15% and started substituting some muscle meat with heart, or added heart because my dog is at an odd weight which for 1-lb patties leaves too many small chunks. It worked. His hair is starting to grow back, he grooms a lot less and I am thinking of removing his cone. I also got rid of synthetic vitamins. To help me, I use Viva Raw because their bone is ground and give more offal, maybe 2 oz (I have a kitchen scale). I also use fermented vegetables and more bone broth. I also use published recipes from dog food companies recommended by vets whose nutrition advice I trust. If they use artificial supplements, I look elsewhere. I was getting frustrated with home cooking until I discovered that Viva Raw's food can be lightly cooked and that organ meats are relatively inexpensive if sourced from a local rancher (I do). I also get way more vegetables than I need in my CSA so, I use the leftovers. As far as supplements go, I now follow the dietary recommendations in the Dr. Katie's Leaky Gut program and other than glandulars for neutered male dogs (from Mercola Market), and for fighting candida, he doesn't receive much. For some reason, giving 1000mg of Vit C helped his skin a lot, so I will continue giving it. I discovered through a CBC that my dog has a B-12 deficiency as his blood panel looked a lot like mine when I had one (this is the reason why I went back to eating meat), so I stopped feeding him raw eggs whites, as that is where the chemicals that inhibit B-12 absorption reside. I do give him the yolks though.

Happy Feline Friday. Great video, wish I had known this two years ago. My previous cat would only eat Fancy Feast. When I caught some kittens that were born in my backyard, I fed them FF. It made one of them throw up. I started feeding different wet and dry foods. A few months later, the other cat started throwing up anything I fed them. Her sister was fine. I fed one cat nothing but raw ground beef for about five weeks. That was over a year ago. Both cats are fine now. I feed them raw ground beef, boiled chicken thighs with bone broth and a wet food that is low in calcium and phosphorus. Once a week they get a tin of sardines, packed in water, no salt added. I use a cat vitamin supplement and a premix as well. Thank you for these videos.

My dog started chewing his tail out of the blue. He had seasonal allergies before that. He was treated with Apoquel and Cytopoint. After he started chewing his tail, he was diagnosed with anxiety and put on fluoxetine. He started having seizures after he was placed on the fluoxetine. He is no longer taking the anxiety medication. I need help. He won't stop chewing his tail and I am concerned that certain foods may trigger seizures.

I just switched my dog to a home made diet, cause I was tired of paying the vet for telling me that there is nothing wrong with my pet, while she was vomiting bile and had bloody diarrhea twice a week. I include ground Turkey along with other meats, and just noticed that the package says Turkey and rosemary extract. Is that safe for our pets? Thanks
