@@jtakesnols I'm running 5W30 right now and keeping track of gas mileage but I plan to go back to 5W20 at the next oil change and see if it makes any significant difference in gas mileage.

My v6 01 mustang has 0w20 in it when the recommended is 5w20. A highly rated mom and pop shop I took it to for some issues it had put that oil in. So far it’s running good

@@djfive-seven563 How long/miles have you been running 0W20? It's hard to know which makes the engine lasts longer without a controlled test. I don't know if I'll try 0W20 but it might work better during the winter months.

Takes 6 to be safe. You can range from 5-6 quarts. Sometimes if you put 5 you won’t be at the full line on dipstick.

Hudson Novak You don’t need to prime the oil filter. That’s your preference. It’s fine to just lubricate the o-ring. You also make no sense if you think the recommendation of the oil level is false as it’s recommended from the manufacturer . If your 99-04 mustang gt takes 7 quarts then you might have a problem, that’s too much oil guy.

@@Tdurrgt priming the oil filter is common practice, you're causing oil starvation at startup by not priming it, it's what we do at my shop and the dealer. 6qts of 5w20 will do just fine, but ford revised their recommendation later in their service bullitens to 5w30. In eastern europe unaffected by CAFE regulations Ford's recommendation is 5w30. 6qts is just fine, but talking to other mechanics and engine builders, 7qts is what you want, that's what all the cobras and machs use as well. Especially if you track the car. Go on some forums and read some service bullitens, theyll tell you everything you need to know about how to do this properly. Not saying your car will blow up, but if you're going to make a video on it, might as well teach the proper way.

Rxhmr always used Mobil 1 in all my cars. Never a problem.

Mobil 1 is great oil ! Standard OE oil for Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper and many other high performance vehicles

Mobil 1 is actually a good oil
