My boss always had me stamp to the very edges. No giving up, smaller stamps put texture all the way into the edges. Good vid though! I learned about the shoes! Had no idea
Stamp your stone and then you’re plank if you want to get right to the edge. I roll my seamless stamps down and roll them back too lift. I never pick it up straight up and down. Suction can often make a mess. In fact most seamless stamps are too large to pick up like you say. After trimming your edge go over that edge with a small paint roller to round it over a bit. Just some of the ways I do things. Hopefully just some helpful pointers.
Great video! Thank you for the clear explanations. I was wondering how you would do the verticals on steps. Would you just recommend smaller texture mats? Also, how about the logistics of steps and the flats. Would you do the verticals first, or just continue all of it from bottom up or top down. Sorry if my questions sound ignorant

With Stone Edge Surfaces Stamp mix you can start stamping within an hour and carving within a few hours...depending on other factors such as temperature, etc. that may make the concrete cure a little faster of slower.
Is this product suitable for outdoor use where it is 100 + degrees in the summer and -15 in the winter? Can it be used for vertical surfaces like steps?
Yes to all your questions. We have distributors in Buffalo NY where it gets as cold as 60 below zero...and we have a factory and a distributor in Mesa Arizona where today...it's 115 degrees! The trainer has spike shoes on so he is only leaving small impressions in the mix and not flattening and smearing the mix and creating low spots. When you have wet fresh mix that you are trying to screed out at 3/8 or 1/2 inch...and it is a large area that you cannot walk around the perimeter and rake and trowel...you use spike shoes so you can walk into the middle of the mix and maintain the same 1/2 to 3/8 inch depth throughout. You just have to smooth out the spike marks, but you don't have to move product around to fill in low spots and footprints that would be left if you walked into the mix and squished the product around your shoes. As far as the cameraman...he did not have spiked shoes on unless he was messing around. ; ) As I was the cameraman...I was probably messing around.
