You said if you use the pro bond dry primer and apply with a roller that you don't need to apply the wall mix? You can apply stamp mix directly to that rolled on primer.?
You can scratch coat the whole wall and go back any time...we've had some who had the scratch coat up for a couple years. Beyond that...not sure, but the longer it is the more you will need to remember to clean it or pressure wash it before applying material to get all the dust and dirt off of it.
Andrew...thanks for writing! Yes...you need the primer for the chemical reaction to adhere the scratch coat to the substrate (vertical or horizontal) and the scratch coat adds the ridges or nodules that help the wall mix stick or hold and not slough or slide while you are adding more and more mix to the wall and increasing the weight then being stamped, carved and drying. You would also do a bond coat between the scratch coat and the wall mix for the same reason listed above. Again, the scratch coat helps vertically by giving the wall mix something to hold onto while it is being worked.
Andrew...I missed this comment...sorry! Go to www.stoneedgesurfaces.com and click on "Resources" in the upper button bar...it is the second selection down on the drop down.
If I have a distributor close to you you can buy the products there. If not, you can buy factory direct. www.stoneedgesurfaces.com, info@stoneedgesurfaces.com 844-786-6333 in the US
are you asking if you can stamp a sanded cement mixture...the answer is yes. Stamped concrete is most widely done using truck pour or ready mix concrete. We sell overlays that are designed beautify or fix, and go over existing concrete. big difference is in the working time of the concrete. Readymix dries very quickly so you only have enough time to do specific kinds of stamping. Polymeric concrete overlays like ours have a very long dry time which allows you to shape, stamp, carve and work the concrete to make it look how you want.
While I am very intrigued by this process, it does seem time consuming and messy. Primer->ScratchCoat->Primer again->Cement->forms->accent base ( Mix+apply)->primary color (Mix+apply)->accent color ( Mix+apply)->sand/scuff->seal What worries me the most is everything you have to buy, not sure this is any cheaper or faster than real stone veneers; cheaper than full stone sure, but i can get stone veneers for 150 sq feet for $500, with everything I'd have to buy, is this cheaper?
I'm going to try it, stucco bud told me all you need to do is mix in an acrylic bonding agent with regular portland cement, mix to same consistency as mortar ( will hang on trowel sideways without sloughing or falling off ) to use these type vertical stamps.

I have been on a course through Flex-c-ment, paid £500 for the course and now there is no supplier in my area, and cannot get answers from Turkey, pissed is not an accurate description, but would like to get supplies for personal use now, any ideas of contacts, as buying from yourselves could prove costly to import, but thank you for your reply
Dekorbeton not good people to deal with, they were only interested in taking our money for the course, tried contacting them several times to be threatened with courts, therefore would like to deal with supplier in uk if at all possible, but thank you mate, if we were nearer you would get my orders
Find me a distributor in the UK that might be interested and lets see if we can get something going! I used to do a lot of business (when i was in the pool industry) with Certiken there in the UK...maybe they would be interested.
I do not have a distributor in Pakistan...so you can buy factory direct from our US factory. Contact us for pricing and a catalogue: info@stoneedgesurfaces.com

Ha ha...no....we are concrete guys!we will be stamping and carving it so it doesn't have to be smooth and perfect like you trained plasterers can do...with us, texture is a good thing. ; )Thanks for the comment!
We do need to explain as we go because it is a basic skills training video. Your skills may be more advanced and so it seems slower to you. I do not know if I would say "painfully" slow : ) ...but you may might like some of our more advanced trainings better.
Thank you for your comment. When you say spry...do you mean spray? As explained in earlier responses, We teach many methods and this is just one of them. We do teach how to spray and use that technique when we are doing brick and other finishes. This method is hawk 7 trowel and throwing mix, and again...is just one of many methods that does not require special equipment. It sounds like you are experienced and use a different method, and that is fantastic. Please send me a link to your video so we can take a look and see if your style is something we can incorporate into our trainings or if you are talking about using a hopper or mortar sprayer method.
Depending on where you are located...you can order from one of our Distributors. If we do not have a distributor close to you then you can order directly from the factory. What state or Country are you located in?
No Distributors in Montreal, so you can order factory direct. if you provide me your email address I can send you a catalogue and pricing and how to order instructions. So you do not have to share your contact info on this open forum...send me an email at bruce@stoneedgesurfaces.com
