In this video I will be using polygel / acrygel / hybrid gel to adhere full cover nail tips. this method is similar to the 123 go method from enail couture or the apres' method. however, the way I am going to show you is WAY CHEAPER and they last just as long (if not longer).

Sometimes 8 weeks! Which is awful and you shouldn't do that but polygels adhere like gels! (Better than acrylic to me) Several times I couldn't do a fill right away and omg weeks and weeks go by! Nails still on

I tried the method she’s using in this video and the tips pop right off like a dual form. When I take the shine out of the inside of the tip and add base gel to the tip and not the polygel it seems to hold better and last longer .

Hello! I am newbie here, I always watch your video tutorials and I have a genuine question and thank you if you'll ever notice it. How did the false nail stick with the polygel? Because when doing extension polygel the dual form can be easily snap off. Is the dual form and the false nail different in this? Thank you!

Good question actually! To make the nail stick to the polygel you have to file the inside of it (remove the shine) that's the difference between the nail and the dual form... otherwise a nail can actually be used as a dual form

When you do, the trick is to use some hybrid gel or other thick gel with a top coat over it, don't cure it, and set your stones down INTO the hybrid gel. Put little pixie crystals or caviar beads in between the larger stones, both to camoflague the clear hybrid gel AND to make it look like the settings in jewelry-- it's a _really_ good look. The 20 Nails channel put me onto the whole using caviar beads to mimic jewelry stone setting prongs and it is my favorite crystal setting technique. Once all your crystals and caviar beads/crystal pixies are in place, cure the nail. You may have to cure it for two or three times as long and turn your hand/client's hand to face the bulbs in the curing lamp from different angles to get the gels to cure, but they WILL cure! Setting everything securely in hybrid gel and topping with no-wipe top coat to keep the sticky away will help you to love your crystals because it will keep them from catching your hair, or anything else. Catching on hair and other stuff is the biggest reason people don't like crystals and metal nail art bits and bobs. Setting into some sort of putty-consistency gel will stop all that catching of things.

at first it took me 4 hours! no joke now i am down to hour and a half maybe 2 hours if they want something extra... to cut down on time i know you dont want to hear this but it will take practice and you will just get use to it... you are taking so long because you are insecure and you dont trust your actions so you do them over or just second guess yourself... in time that will go away and speed will come

Swipe is alcohol & acetone mixed with a blue dye. So just add acetone to your alcohol and you got it! That's what I use and it's perfect

@@NailedbyNikki thank you good to know I have some mixed up already that I was using as a dehydrator. I'm about to start learning acrylic (well if I can get out of my head thinking it's impossible) I got the acrylic, monomer, brush trainer hand now to stop being chicken. 😂😂

OMG lol dive in! Just do it and when you mess it up and it looks a hot mess take a photo and save it for when you are great at doing nails and you can see how far you've come! Also I do have acrylic classes for beginners you can join one if you like nailedbynikki.com/classes

I just adore that rainbow glitter Light Elegance gel, it's just gorgeous. Also, you got that in Sacramento. I remember because I kept trying to hook up with you on that trip because I live just an hour north of downtown Sac, and I was on my way down there anyway. Besides, I know things about Sac, being my nearest big city, and my state capital. But the point is that I remember you getting that gel in your "early bird" gift bag.

@@NailedbyNikki Since you want to do more gel sets, maybe give her gel nails, but make them as perfect as you can so that you can get away with minimal filing, once the edges are shaped. Don't forget to turn her hand upside down so the gel falls into the apexes-- without a ton of file-shaping.
