This week we're exploring more with sublimation! This week we're going to show you two methods to sublimate on dark colored t-shirts! We love the option of printing our own images and infusing them into the t-shirts with a cotton blend, but what if you wanted to sublimate on 100% cotton or even dark fabrics?! You could.use the all purpose flour technique lay image down trace with flour an outline then go in and paint the areas to be bleached with bleach paint on with a paint brush. Skip the whole vinyl step.. But like always love the videos you 2 are Great...

These are really cool looking. YEP! USPS not only do they not care about your package but they open them too.....AND.....they can't read. Have you tried a partial / peel-back liner technique, rather than having the whole piece exposed before placing down. May help with easier positioning. Interesting processes and both turned out well.

Kim, can you explain how you got your image to print larger than is allowed in design space or were you in the guideline? I really don't like this part of Cricut. Why do we have a 12"x12" mat or a 12"x24" if you can't design and cut on the full mat? Sheesh!

Great job... I do agree, oversize the sublimation helps to avoid lining up... although if any bleach spotted outside your design.. it might pick it up.

I love your content! Thank you for posting all of these helpful videos! I have a question. Is this really sublimation? The reason why I am asking this is because I worked at a vinyl printing and screen printing shop and both those print methods sit on top of the material which I would like to avoid because they don't wash well. When I see your final product, I can see it has a glossiness to it and I don't know if it is because the ink is on top of it or if this is just the look that it gives as the end result? Thanks!

Great video as always! So, I saw on another video where it showed that you couldn’t print directly onto the EasySub because the ink wouldn’t dry. Instead it was recommended to print onto sublimation paper first, heat transfer the image onto the EasySubli, and then onto the shirt. But you printed directly onto the EasySubli! So…what’s best?

Definitely want to try the bleach method (heard too many issues with vinyl). The wild thing, this is the ONLY tutorial where someone uses a stencil and only bleach one area. Other tutorials just make a tie dye looking thing. If I manage to do ok, may I make a written tutorial if I include a link to your video?

Great question! It sits on top like vinyl, but feels a litte more pliable than vinyl.

I just came across your video, love it! You might have come across with my options to do this so I am wondering if you might have an option for what i am needing. I am doing a logo on a black tanktop. My issue is that it is not all one piece and also has white writing in it. The logo will only be 3"x3" so it will be difficult to do the print/cut feature. Any ideas? Anyone?

Great question, for bleaching & sublimating you want close to a 50/50 cotton/polyester blend. Full polyester will not bleach.

I have a few questions! For the one Garrett did do u use jus a cheap vinyl for stencil? For Kim’s does the image feel like vinyl and peel eventually like vinyl? Or does it feel like sublimation? I have a job I have to do for a new business in town and they picked black for their clothing color and I am nervous on which technique is best. Also can u do both these techniques with shirts of any material?

Do you have to wash the garment prior to selling? Or is when you apply the peroxide to stop the bleaching does it take care of it?

We washed them on quick cycle cold water, before we started wearing them.

Do I need to cut with a Cricut if the background is transparent? Or can I just use scissors to cut around what I want to press? I just learned about sublimation on dark cloths, I failed miserably last weekend trying to sublimate on a black hoodie. Thank you for this

I also use Hiipo brand and love it, of course, it's my 1st time using sublimation and I've not tried any other brand, but just watching youtube and seeing other brands I will most likely stick with this brand when I need more ink.

Hair dryer will work, just takes a bit longer than a heat gun. Just be careful not to get the heat gun concentrated on one spot or you may get a burn hole in your shirt!

How can I sublimate on 100% cotton without using the siser easysubli? Do you have a how to video for that? I don’t like the feel of the easysubli. Any advise? I have a white shirt that’s 100% cotton, and tried to sublimate it, but it washed right out. Obviously, I’m new to this process.

We had luck using some Sublimation Coating Spray for Cotton. amzn.to/3J8Cvyo. Spray it on, dry it, spray it, dry it and then sublimate it.

My question is how much were the tshirts? Were they the same price or how much? I know ones 100% cotton and the other was a blend. I really loved the easy subli process looked ez. I like ez. All that bleechy cover bleach eh.. indoors no thanks. Summer time I might give that a try out doors. Love the comparison process thanks for sharing.
