I’ve been looking for a tutorial on this for a while and all I can say is THANK YOU!! Just recently purchased ProFire 5K from Pixel Film Studios, but they don’t go in depth on how to properly use it. This definitely helped me a lot 🙏🏽

Hi Erik - excellent video dude! I'm using the Pro Fire 5k from Pixel & have found out how to use Proxy. However, things are still a fair bit slower than your vid (which I guess is done in realtime). What is your system spec? I'm on a 4.2 quad core i7 2017 machine with the 8GB video card so would have thought it should handle things ok... Also, rendering is somewhat tedious... any suggestions?

Thanks :) Well I am running on a iMac 2017 with a 3,8 Ghz Quad Core i5, 16Gb of DDR4 RAM and a Radeon Pro 580 8 GB graphics card AND I am not using proxies. So maybe check your hard drive and also test to change the quality to better performance. Do you have many layers and different plugins on the timeline or does it always feel slow?

@@ErikEngstrand Thanks for the reply!! My HD is an SSD so should not be causing a problem... (in theory...). I'm very new to this - can ou advise on how to test the performance please? The flame & the main image (my hand) that I am applying it to are the only things in the timeline.

@@ErikEngstrand My footage is 1080p, 30 fps. Not sure on the resolution of the fire... The whole vid is 8 seconds long. The render takes 12 mins...

@@linadecaseleycarloss5838 ok, make sure your project is 1080p 30 fps and it should be able to run smooth. When you load in the clips in your project fcpx will import them into the current library and then also backrender all the footage on the timeline (the small dots on the top of the timeline). Make sure you don’t have one massive library. I always make a new library for every video I make otherwise the filesize gets kinda crazy 😄 Hope it helps you

Cool effect but you need to work on sound design. A loud intro where the levels don’t match the rest of the video is a sign of poor editing. Soft talking and loud music do not work.

@@crazycurlyworld Ha just watched your recent video LOUD music soft talking. Its all good but its a trend I see way too much of. try watching your video with closed headphones wo touching the volume. Man help me stop this awful curse lol. cool video btw!
