Glad you liked it Tony. It's the truth! Technique is crucial - but hitting raging speed is important too, because we've gotta have fun right ;-) ... we've just got to get them in the right order. I hope your training's progressing well, -Glen

Great vid-surprised I’m just now finding yours after I thought I’d seen all the jump rope videos on RU-vid! I used to do this easily when I was a teenager, now in my 50s I can’t seem to stop tripping over a tangled rope. I’m working through your tips now. Thanks!

Hopefully more people can see these videos and find them useful too; I'll keep working to put out vids with tips that have helped me with my training. Great to hear you're still going strong in your 50s! How has your training been going this past week? Cheers, - Glen

Wonderful tute. Really appreciate the way you broke down the crossover. Had no idea I needed to tilt my torso. No online tute ever mentioned that. Keep making these oh so informative vids.
@RopeRage
@RopeRage 4 года назад
much appreciated, danny! So that tilt thing took me a while to notice myself, but when you go to really high speeds it becomes more apparent and obvious to get in and out of the crossover while keeping up the pace. I tried slowing things down and realized that the tilting motion is pretty much always in action for this move - but the key is that when doing it slower, it is almost unnoticeable (I even had a point where there wasn't much movement, but I felt my abdominal and lower back muscles working alternately, tilting to and fro). But the tilt is there, and we can maximize it for better crossovers if we use it correctly. Glad you enjoyed the video, and oh yes-more of these to come 😎 Cheers, -Glen

Hey Nate, thanks a lot for your message - I really do appreciate the kind words. I try to explain things in ways that would've made things easy for me to learn effectively when I was first learning, so I'm always glad to get messages like these acknowledging the effort! Yes! Nailed it too one hour after seeing this vid. What really was key for me, after being able to do it, but inconsistently, was to move my hands FAR enough apart when crossed over. After that came consistency and then it's like learning to ride a bike; you cannot unlearn it.

😃😃Thanks Glen.. I have so much to learn. Please teach me double unders. I am jumping correct. Well, for sometime(until I trip or get whipped). Elbows, hands and wrist position as you mentioned in your video on double unders. My jumps are okay. Consistent speed. But I feel that my wrists aren't moving efficiently as I jump. Sometimes it's too fast and sometimes it's just slow(no consistency). It annoys me whenever I try. Please make video about how to use the wrists for each jump and the timing. 🤗

still a very good tutorial. I would like you to advice me for the weight of the rope rx (buff, elite, ultra1.8) I do not know what to take for freestyle ... could you advise me also on the size of the rope, knowing that I measure 1 meter 80. thank you for your great tutorial and inspiring video. thank you
@koumache
@koumache 6 лет назад
I come from even for the cable (buff) but I have trouble finding the measure for 1 meter81
@RopeRage
@RopeRage 6 лет назад
Well I think the Buff cable is best for freestyling (elite and ultra are fun and very fast, but I like to "feel" the weight of the rope) - my rope length is 8’7” - but remember that your rope length should be chosen according to your skill level (since a shorter rope is a faster rope) and your height (My height is 6'0" - I am only a little bit taller than you are). My rope is quite short for normal freestyle standards, so I would recommend you go for between 8'9" to 8'10" if just starting out with freestyle rope training. Hopefully that helps out, but let me know if you have any more questions
