Sure and thanks for checking us out … If you are driving and have your own vehicle I would suggest staying in New Jersey, preferably around Jersey City ( Secaucus/ Newark/ Jersey City) and go to NYC via Train …
Hi brother, I have a question, you have shared very valuable information. We are going to go to NY first time from Toronto in two weeks. Staying two days. Please kindly answer to my questions. How many minutes walk from grove street to the station? Do you have any suggestion to book the hotel, I mean location? Approximately how much US dollars I must take? Is there a specific route I should take when driving? How should I pay Toll?
Thanks for checking the video … 1. From Grove Street parking lots (wherever you get a parking lot , there are a few) the Path train station is just 5-10 mins walk and totally safe to walk. 2. Book hotel if possible Grove Street / Exchange Place.. that way you will get the max out of your time at NYC… but be aware the hotels cost are high , so pls consider that and do your own research as your priorities are yours.. the hotels here generally charge for parking ~25$/ 24 hrs , but that you have to shell out anyways for parking your car before taking the Path train. 3. You shall be good to carry ~200$ us per head , but I suggest to have a credit card with no international charge ( eg HomeTrust) 4. Your Ontario license plate will automatically scanned and bill will be sent to you … you can also pay the toll online and 5. Finally for Route just follow Google maps … hope that helps !
Thanks for your support . We parked by the lots next to Grove Street PATH station. Grove Street is at Jersey City .. weekends if you arrive early you might find free street parking also. Good luck !
Awesome video , must appreciate your hard work and precise but worthy content. Can you please advise if there is any transit pass - which can be used in subways ( path ) and others in New York as well only for weekends . Also , is it safe to drive at night from Toronto to New Jersey ? Planning to go for a weekend only . Thanks for your time.
Thanks for checking us out … well as your plan is only weekend you would rather be better to use the single ride … as they have only 7 day unlimited which will not be helpful for your case.. also you can just use your credit card directly ( assuming if you get a foreign transaction surcharge free card e.f. hometrust card) … and I would definitely not suggest night time driving as that’s too risky from my perspective.
@@mv-db7iy roads are fine but there are terrains which has hills … if going with family I would always recommend to avoid night drives … but it’s your call.
One quick question , what documents do we need to carry while crossing the border by car? Do we need car fitness certificate or any other related documents?kindly reply soon as we planning trip tonight
Quick question- You stayed in Jersey city coz. Hotel and parking in cheap or you'll stayed with relatives? Have kids too, our drive is from Toronto as well. You didn't or I missed it, as to where you'll stayed? thanks.
I stayed with my family friends at Edison, NJ … from there I used to drive an hour till Jersey City , parked my car there… you can book hotel at Edison and do the same thing ..
@@NodesofTravel Where to park in Jersey City? Kindly advise. And from there how to go to New York? Kindly make a video or shed some light on that too. Thanks
Hi Amit , Thanks for checking us out … I stayed at my friends place. But you can plan to stay near Newport / Pavonia or Grove Street area. I would avoid places like Bayonne or Union City … another good option is Secaucus. Good Luck and Happy travels.
@@NodesofTravel as this is first time for me and I am PR here, i will be going with my sister who is on work permit, can you tell what things we have to take care of? I believe beside USD we can use our scotia credit cards and debit cards , what about sim and alll
Credit cards will work but you need to check with the bank if there is any additional foreign transaction fee … depends on the card … SIM card , I can say for Rogers there is a ‘Roam like Home’ option , which charges 12 CAD per day… not sure about other cellular providers … hope that helps !
@@NodesofTravel yeah i have freedom and i work with rogers so trying to see if rogers would be helpful over there, thanks for the info. So for hotel booking and all just call from here and they will deduct amount from our card only automatically USD instead of CAD
Hi, it is about 7-8 hrs drive , if you need to wait for I94 etc then at the border there will be 30-60 min wait , depends though… pretty good and straight forward highway drive .. Good Luck . Where are you staying , at Jersey or NYC itself ?
