0. Sit in Padmasana or normally on the floor, spine straight, remove spectacles. 1. Observe your breath (Inflow and Outflow) 2. Observe from which nostril (left or right) breath is flowing 3. Observe when it is touching the upper lips, the walls of nostrils, etc. (Feel your breath) 4. If mind diverts to other thoughts, refocus on the flow of breath 5. Observe the sensation, stay neutral to sensation, start from your head to all the parts of your body.
Nicely explained.Aim of vipassana is freedom from craving(raag) and aversion(dwesh) these two r main cause of miseries ( dukkha.) By observation u get detached from body consequently detached from miseriesof in life and after this life.

Sir...maine last 2 days se meditation Start kiya hai...but mere sath ek problem ho rahi haii.. Jab bhi main breath per focus karta hu to kuch der baad main unconsciously apni breath ke rhythm ko control karna suru kar deta hu...apni breath natural speed se nhi le pataa hu... please guide me

Kisi naye sadhak ke liye aanapan ghar par baith kar karna thik hai par vipashyana sikhne ke liye lagatar aanapan karna jaruri hai aur fir vipashyana ki aur aage badha ja sakta hai. Lekin aajkal ki bhag doud ki duniya me ghar baithkar yah sikh pana sambhav nahi hai. Iske liye kisi bhi naye sadhak ko das din ka shivir karna he padega tab he wo kuch sikh payega.
