You my guy are more of a Saint than Trina. Those after image attacks in phase 2 are absolute bullshit, pair that with all the holy light and I can barely tell what’s going on. This really helped
@@MardiBaldi It really does. I kept trying to roll into his attacks because my friend said "They were the most effective." But they were not, rolling away is far easier and rolling in is barely required, it does help a bit in the first phase though.
would be more useful to also see what attacks give good punish opportunities, dude is hardly close enlugh to actually attack at any point in the video. if i want to just run away from him the whole time then i guess this is useful
Elden Ring is the only game in FromSoftware history that people needed guides for on how to deal with certain attacks, and it happened for multiple bosses. Kind of a sign that they've hit the limits of what's reasonable with this formula.
Yeah I’m interested to see where they go next. I love consort and malenia as bosses but having to decode a puzzle to figure out how to dodge stuff like waterfowl/clones is starting to get a bit tiresome
@23Butanedione no brother he is right I'm my opinion. Radhan's hit boxes on us are complete bs. I understand the game is supposed to be hard. But this guy is just SPAM. The BS light show whenever he swings that sword is annoying if your close enough to actually do damage the lights block you from even seeing what the next attack is. I feel like they over did him just a bit. I love tough fights but Jeez. Then he has one move that I always get hit by the second one even if I Dodge them both. The double flying gravity attack.
I wouldn’t say I’m good but after a few tries I learn bosses attacks, phase 1 is good, difficult but good. Phase 2 in my opinion is just awful from the poor visibility to the constant attacks, to the point where sometimes you can get one light attack in then you’re back to endlessly dodging his diabolical holy attacks
Agree. Phase 1 is pretty easy to do without taking hits, phase 2 is just ridiculously poorly made. Getting one hit in every 30 seconds and being unable to even see what's happening half the time is not good game design, and takes him from difficult to bs.
I'm going to watch this a few more times. The melee combos are okay to deal with, but I just cannot handle the clones yet. Want to beat this boss solo. Thank you for uploading this.
Your description of how to dodge the boulder attack will be useful for next time I fight him but also exposes the issues I have with this fight. I tried multiple solutions for every attack, including just running like you show for the boulder attack but I still got caught by it. But your guide reveals what I was missing is having to be close to him at the very beginning of the combo in order to get the required distance. That's what's insane to me. In order to avoid the ending of a long attack combo, you have to dodge the very first attack of the combo in a specic way and needing to approach it that way is not at all intuitive. I had to just block it and then heal off the damage to survive it consistently because trying to dodge it with rolls felt like a coin toss.
One of the reasons I think I prefer this style of dodging over sticking close is because you can see him in whole view. Even though you avoid pillars with both methods of dodging, this one doesn't have the same issue where you can only see his back when dodging diagonally (which led to a LOT of phase 2 deaths for me). I'm going to try this with storm blade AOW (decent ranged speed) and see how that works.
@@MardiBaldi phase 1 took me 2 days to master but 2nd phase keep getting one or two shoted and do all the fight over and over again was tidious and boring AF, i summoned two nerds and myself killed him. but it was no fun ..i wish i would have watched your video . i dont mind getting gud but man the damage need to be nerfed i am 18 scadutree fragmented medium roll and getting 2 shoted. @@MardiBaldi I was actually talking about the one he does when he is about to die, the one where he jumps into the stars and slams down 3 times, thanks anyways
Angled dash attack is the trickiest, imo. Sometimes after shooting that ring of light he teleports at you immediately or he does 4 hit clone followup combo, does not even let you to jump over ring, he does it immediately.
It is tricky! I noticed if you’re not too far away from him and if you roll the small ring projectile toward him he will follow up with a swing of his sword that is a decent attack window 1:04
It is easy to dodge when you are light rolling, I used winged crystal tear in this fight and I am ok with dodging every attack but lasers still very hard to dodge especially when he pulls the swords from the ground and does that laser aoe you can it dodge it by rolling into him but you have to stay really close, otherwise it will always roll catch you. This fight is more about positioning yourself correctly.

There is nothing really easy about this boss when it comes to avoid getting hit if you are doing a no hit kill, unfortunally. Its so annoying how fast he is.
Can someone please help me understand how every single guide continues to run after Radahn sends the gravity balls. The guide always says to keep running but when I do he always catches up to me during those 4 first dash attacks to the ground. These guides are either getting lucky or this has been updated in the game because I’m not pausing once after running from the gravity meteors

Totally blind when got to phase 2. Thanks to you I can get dodge his dash side way with clone follow up, and I manage to get him to 50%. Will practice more and watch your video over and over again. Hope I can beat him soon
@@MardiBaldi Hi, just rewatch your video for many times, it helps alot. But I have some problems with the boulders + clone combo. If Radahn do it close to me, I can not out run the clone after dodge the boudlers, can you suggest me anyway to dodge the clone when I can not run far from it? Thanks a lot
@@scorn9727 I’m glad it has helped! Unfortunately I don’t think you can dodge the clone attacks if the arena doesn’t allow you to run far enough. I would suggest trying to dodge at least the 5th and last slam attack because it does the most damage
Quick question (this is more for others than for me). Does it matter if you are lightweight build or medium weight build? I only ask this because I noticed it is much easier to dodge Radahn in second phase while being lightweight and utilizing your tips from the video. I haven’t fought him with your tips while medium weight, only without using your tips

Oh god, I only just realized that I have to be far away enough for boulder clone attacks to miss while sprinting. I never realized this because I assumed distance didn't matter for this attack, because he teleports. I always got confused as to why my character always got caught while sprinting, whereas others didn't while sprinting. Thanks!

I found that after his combos that end with him slamming swords into the ground with the AOE you can get a charged attack with a Colossal GS. That includes those that involve an illusion Bloodflame I don't try to punish, but if you strafe enough after the slash you can probably get 1 r1 off. His grab can be punished with a jump or r1. R2/ash will mean a trade 90% of the tike. His combos ending with a double slash can be punished with a charged r2 but a jump is probably safer. His slash slash x can be punished with an r1 or jump. I don't think you should heal there, however. Stay on his right (your left) foot and it'll come out fewer times. Lionsclaw can be punished with a jump attack or guard counter. Imo guard counter is really good for this move. All the rest are rolling r1s I've found.
Thanks for this man! can you also tell us when to punish in second phase because I feel like there is only one combo that I can push. Or maybe that could be because I'm using Giant Crusher

Very impressive. Seeing the degree of rote memorization required to master this fight makes me feel better about quitting. My level 150 sorcerer and Consort Radahn will rot behind that fog door for all eternity. Many of those attacks come out too fast to react to and with no clear visual queues on how to avoid them. You simply have to get hit and die enough times until you figure it out. I reached the point that I could clear phase one flawlessly and get Radahn down to 20% health, only to get stunlocked and comboed to death by overlapping melee and AOE attacks. After 100 failed attempts, I realized I was hating every minute of it. First time I've ever quit a Soulsborne game, but it feels like a fight worth quitting.
I had to resort to using a shield to survive and scrape by... came here to finally see how to dodge the two moves that kept messing me over (aerial light dash, long combo)

I tested with medium load and they still work. The angled dash attack gave me the most problems with medium load, it wasn’t as consistent as I wanted it, still need to work that one out
How do you consistently dodge the 4 slam dash attack? About 75% of the time the first hit lands right on me despite sprinting to the side like you do in the video. Sometimes it works, but I can't seem to make it consistent.
I had well over 70 rune arcs and not every death I had used them. I finally did it, I was about to quit and told myself just one more before bed. I got it, so if I can, any of you can. I was using my 3rd string weapon, too.
Did they patch the running away from the boulder clone attack? The clones still spawn on top of me and kill me eventhough im running away just like in this vid
@@JustAnotherGamerNL It still works 👍 you have to be next to or close by him to roll through his upward swing when he brings the boulders out of the ground. That’s an important step to get enough space between you and the clone attacks. Roll through that attack and run straight back
I can never dodge the 4 slam dash after the rocks like what you're doing, i do dodge the rocks but then i get hit by every single slam. what am i doing wrong?😫
@@rouinz You have to go towards him when he first starts this attack, so that you can be close enough to him to roll through the upward swing when he brings the rocks out of the ground. That’s an important step to get the necessary distance to outpace all the slam attacks. After that run in a straight line, dodge the rocks and then continue running away. If you clear the first few slams you don’t have to run anymore and can get ready to roll the 5th and final slam
@@jjmcnamara5236 The clone dash attacks will mostly be avoided by the same dodges for both melee and range attacks. Those are the hardest to avoid. For Radahn’s other attacks, when there’s an attack window, you gonna want to roll toward him instead of away to be in melee range
Run backwards and jump just before the slam, you can outrun the clones/afterimages, but when the real Radahn comes to do the final slam, jump again and keep running!

8:12 This attack can be easily dodged by 4 consecutive rolls back, 1 roll to the left, a little delay while he jumps into the air and then roll into him for the slam attack to avoid the AOE damage
I dont undestand how you sprinted away to the right from the clone slam attack. I tried it 10 times and every single time it hits me. Is there something special you need to do before? like is it necessary to stand still like you did? Or is there a very specific direction? It just never works for me.
@@tinminator8905 When he lifts back into the air I just hold sprint and right on the analog stick. When you get the hang of it you will be able able to dodge it almost every time
@@MardiBaldi Ok, I figured it out. The one where he does it out of neutral has worse tracking and you can do it. The one after the meteors has better tracking and is unavoidable with sprinting. The thing I do right now for that one is run aways during meteors so I am out of range. That is inconsistent, because sometimes you are positioned in a way where that is not possible. @@tinminator8905 on the meteor attack, if I can’t roll through his upward swing out of the ground when he lifts up with than most likely won’t be able to out run the clone attacks. When that happens I’ll try to at least avoid the 5th and last slam
