How to Dodge Disablers in Warhammer: Vermintide 2 

You can even dodge towards a leech to dodge his grab. Leech is a joke until he teleports with no noise.

"How to dodge a leech" Step 1: pivot on the spot as soon as he teleports and blast his face off with a ranged weapon.

A few of my friends had just gotten vermintide and i was slogging it through recruit teaching them the basics, they were fucking blown away by the 1 2 3 leech trick, cause you can also time when he teleports based on his little chant he does. Awesome video, definitely sending this to them.

At least in my experience, backward dodge almost never work against hookrat if you're not a host, even with a ~40ms ping. It still grabs from waaaay outside his hook's reach, and i've also witnessed people being teleported back to him when he finishes the grab move. With assassin, you can also push him from the front (or even use an attack) - this not only staggers him, but also leaves him open to an instant attack from you. But this also only works properly for host - i've had multiple occasions when i time a push / attack correctly, but the assassin still pounces on me and deals damage, only to be pushed off or killed by my previous action a second later.

I've found that the easiest way to dodge a packrat is to dodge inward on the hook. Wait for the rat to begin it's lunge, then abruptly turn sideways and dodge towards the rat. If you are facing away from it you can simply dodge towards it without looking. This is much more effective that side or backstepping in hordes because there is always open space inside the hooks reach. Also, the hook rat does have a sound queue, but it is very quiet. The packrat usually rambles about catching, but when they prepare to lunge they will hold their breath and the skull shaking will stop. Relying on this queue is only effective on low ping or with impressive reaction time. Using this technique you can avoid a packrat almost as trivially as a leech, and it leaves the rat far more vulnerable to counter-attack.

I personally dodge the hookrat diagonally into it. Start the dodge while looking at the hook rat and then move the mouse to the side where you character dodges into the rat. It has worked very reliably for me even in bad ping, but maybe im just lucky.

My favourite thing that I mastered was timing the push attack whilst facing a pouncing assassin perfectly no matter the distance they pounce from. I almost always host, so I don't get grabbed.

Two things you forgor to mention: if an assassin jumps at a wall or ledge but doesn’t disappear and instead gracefully falls please be aware that the assassin is STILL IN POUNCING meaning if you touch it even though its barely doing anything it’ll count. One last thing you can dodge a hook rat by perfectly ducking under the hook -Verified by Markus Kruber which means it must be right

Ironically, Hookrat gives me the least trouble. It is just so loud that I never can get caught by suprise- it only ever catches me when dealing with a horde. Leech, however, I never notice until grabs me from the back.

I've also found that assasins only jump at you if they are able to see your most lower body, like your in-game shoes mostly only useful if want them to jump at you from a lower positioning or whether you want to force them up to you by standing a few steps short up some stairs (or something)

Sounds like the hook rat's sound stops during the grab animation. I am still learning the WH box step defense and trying not to go full berserker hack and slash mode. Great video!

The hookrats hook will reach across the space time continuum just to fuck your day up

you only get knocked down when solely trying to shove assassins assuming medium-high ping. When youre hosting or connected to someone close it seems pretty consistent as an easy way to kill an assassin

Personally I always run at hook rats when possible.. It helps me time my dodge by building muscle memory. If you have ping over 200 just dodge .5 - 1s earlier. If you hear one coming while fighting inside a horde make a ping key something easily spammable, mine is mouse wheel up. Try to use as little stam and when hes about 2 secs away spam push the direction you want to dodge in. I will do an attack that cleaves the most push turn sideways and dodge towards the hook. For assassins do not shoot until he slows down to pounce and idk about the whole two steps thing. Its quite simple b4 his pounce he moves very fast then he will all of a sudden move VERY slowly and most of the time turn towards you but you can never count on an assassin to do the same thing everytime. He will roll off walls and insta pounce so stay away from walls bc he rolls off walls into an insta pounce, he is also made of flubber and bounce off the wall and if your in his way, you get disabled. So for assassins don't be near walls when possible.

Does crouching still work to avoid the hookrat ? In vt1 the voice lines would constantly hint towards crouching to avoid them but they dont seem to do so in vt2 and i havent tried

Bonus tip: When dodging a gutter runner, be sure to line up with one of your teammates so they get pounced instead of you! Seriously though, please consider where your teammates are before you dodge them if the situation permits.

I"m surprised to hear hookrats being the hardest to dodge. When I'm -aware- of the hookrat, I find dodging them MUCH more reliable than assassins. Probably something to do with the fact that Hookrats have a coded 'miss on dodge' as opposed to an incidental 'you didn't get hit', where as you can 'sidestep' an assassin, but if he so much as grazes you you still get grabbed. x.x

for the hook rat you can dodge as soon as you see his hook move and it doesn't track you either, but ive noticed that on more than 100 ping the hook rat will always get you.

gutter rats are the most un fun bullshit of the three. I wish there was a way to escape them without help so I can get through rank weaves by myself.

First line and I already disagree. Main cause of games ending in defeat is cause of the scariest, strongest enemy ingame, "that one fucker behind you". This guy is responsible for 87% of all damage dealt to players.

fking hate hook rats, its all fun and games until they get you through a crowd and dodging is simply not really possible. Happened to me too many time.

I found a better easy way to avoid disablers cause once they grab u its a game over unfair n frustrating asf so there u go without further ado i just uninstalled the game , problem solved 😂😂😂
