Yo gamers, thank you for watching the vid! Sorry I didn't include the nightmare versions in this video, I couldn't get enough of their spawns to capture their unique moves so we will save that for another video specific to all the nightmare grades but I will compile the info on them from the comments in this pinned message! Nightmare Skele Footman: +Overhead swing [side step] +Clockwise Sideswipe [crouch look down or space] Nightmare Skele Guardsman: +Upwards left diagonal swing [strafe left and look down + crouch] thank you ChiefBanana, sawritall4292, theexsalted9352!
In my opinion you are becoming the go to dark and darker creator. I love the relaxed and informative attitude you have about the game and its shortcomings alongside its strengths. Too many people fall into the trap of defending dumb decisions or complaining to complain. Also the amount of effort going into the editing and animation showcase is nothing short of triple AAA.
Thanks Ryan, all of your sacrifices to learn this will help us confidently fight these new monsters. I mean, we'll still mess up and die horribly, but at least we'll be confident
Hey again Ryan! Thank you so much for making these high quality amazing guides for everyone, always exiting to see your video first thing on my RU-vid recommendations, keep everything up man
Wendigo Tip: I've only seen the Wendigo attack starting from the LEFT and then RIGHT. So it's different from a demon Berserker which has a random right or left. Its actually easier.
RYAN WTF YOU JUST KILLED ME!!! I was the no shirt orc , HostileEntity, I was trying to kill a giant in icecaves, and you rolled up in an falchioned me. GGS
Do dodge the frost giant shielder, you can apparently crouch and look up and backwards so your head goes through his body. He then misses you for some reason.
Just wanna point out that Ironmace says they’re getting rid of cheese spots, and then they add stacks of boxes to rooms with mini bosses that are obviously made to cheese them with. Idk just seems odd to constantly add more ways to cheese and also be patching out old ways of doing it
I honestly don't even have a problem with cheesing. I may be bad or something and that's fine but I enjoy the cheesy Mob fighting with the less cheesy actual PVP. It makes PVEing a lot more doable solo and it adds a level of security for runs knowing you'll most likely only have to worry about players if you at least are paying attention. It just feels more chill to not worry about psycho boss mob aggro especially if you're just trying to pass through the room. I understand that my Point of view is not everyone's though.
@@JustATanneriteDummy if the pve wasn’t so tedious and cumbersome there wouldn’t even be a need to cheese things. You are almost completely screwed as most classes when you manage to make one mistake against a sub boss and need to kite, only to aggro every other damn mob in the room. Suddenly you have 10 mobs chasing you and simply don’t have the window of opportunity to clear them all one by one when a wendigo is super on your ass. Add an enemy player into the mix and it’s pretty much over. There goes 20 mins of your life, into the void lol
Idk if its currently relevant to this video, but i have noticed that nightmare swordboners have a extra trick up their sleeve when they swipe so players should still treat them as dangerous, nightmare ice archers are the same as regular nightmare ones, and ive yet to see a shieldboner of the nightmare variety, these guys are notoriously rare for some reason.
@@Lucas-nj4xn its thankfully easy to block or even just dodge it, but nightmares being nightmares, they are absolutely terrifying, i always treat any sort of nightmare enemy has the most dangerous at the moment because i know they can annihilate me
with the wipe giving us these new quests, and no more ruinz I'm trying this map out and this is a good video man thanks. I was came just for the berserker, but watched the whole thing and did learn alot. Thanks Ryan
Man to be honest your video production, schedule and love for this game are leagues beyond what any other Dark&Darker creator has going on. No hate to anyone, you are just the best at it man
Ryan thanks again for another awesome video. This was done with great speed, and great accuracy. You're the goat of informational video making for this community.
Thanks again, I feel like Ice caverns feels a like it goes alot smoother if you just take your time and learn all that you can. I feel like Ironmace wants make more maps that punish players for skipping rooms with lots of mobs, but I'm not 100% sure what they want to do. After being in the Ice caves alot this really helps me figure out how to deal with the Wendigo and giants so thanks alot. I still use the shield optimally to this day because of you.
Wanna add that kobolds do not exclusively signal other kobolds as I've seen them aggro skeletons and even a wendigo. Noticed this primarily as we've pulled said mobs through walls.
the frost archer has a sideswipe melee attack also, and the sword skellies have a 3rd attack, that is a diagonal attack but it starts at the bottom and goes up.
Aint sure if its featured or glitched, the kobolds actually alert skeletons as well, there are times they alert skeletons and kobolds, in the other rooms even. With the mob densities. There are times my friends and I had to deal with both rooms mobs ( the scream lured some skeleton archers) ending up clearing like 15 mobs. Mobs are easy to dealt with but just be aware.
Hey Ryan, helpful video! Heads up that the video is missing a chapter for the skeleton footman and the chapter name for the kobolds auto corrected to "cobalt"
The frost guardsmen do have a slash that starts from the bottom right and goes left/up (from your pov). You dodge it with the normal bait and run tactic, and can probably step left and crouch under it
VIDEO SUGGESTION- Could you please do a video breaking down drop chances and how luck affects your chances of pulling better loot? Also what exactly can drop / where to find legendaries / uniques and other stuff like that
The archers also have a very rare attack where they hold the bow like a bat and do a horizontal swing. I've only seen them do it once though and I was like "wtf" - not sure if it was a normal or a nightmare, but I just dodged it pretty much the same as the shove attack.
I've been waiting for your video. I had developed some strategies that worked, but I knew you would have the best methods. You have helped so many players be able to more enjoy this game. Some times it's hard to just test things. The crouching on the bowman is a great example. Never thought to do it. You are the only "dodge DnD monsters" guide maker that matters. Thanks for all your help.
i fought 100 of those skeleton bowman before i encountered a nightmare one, didn't even realize in the dark. I thought i had them on lock, then he took his bow like a bat and took my head off xD
I love your videos! Thank you so much for passively helping me kill the mobs. I do have a question though. As someone that’s bad at the PvP in this game, is there any chance I could hit demigod before wipe?
I would like to point out and love for you to test this on the Kobold Shield Users.... If you hit their shields directly it hurts them. I noticed this after a series of times I would land an attack on their shield, putting them into their critical range to shout for help. I proceeded to hit their shield again on purpose and it kills them. Please try it out!
AIGHT CHAT HEAR ME OUT! Make goblin caves the "inferno map" for ice caves (don't ask me to explain that lore wise). Keep ruins/ crypts/ inferno as it is. Allow non-HR to que between all maps and party sizes for easy questing = 6 lobbies. Then HR solo/duo/trio rotates between layers ice/goblin cave and layerd ruins/crypts/inferno. Resulting in 9 lobbies.
TLDW: "if you have the movespeed for it."; "if you have the movespeed for it."; "if you have the movespeed for it." I'm tired boss. I want block consistency.
The shielder also seems to have an attack that tracks you through their shield bash in certain scenarios. Don't know if it's RNG or not but it has messed me up a couple times.
The ice archer’s forward shove doesn’t have good tracking, it can easily be sidestepped. I’ve found that more consistent. Also I’ve been having trouble ducking under the side swipe for spearmen and axemen, any tips? I’m wondering if they’re hitting my cloak
What about the wolves? i try to block em with my shield as a fighter but i get hit and block, so im slow downed and taken my hp away, same thing with the skeleton swordsmans
jumping to the side is the most reliable way , in some slower kits it may help to take your chest piece off just to give you that extra bit of move speed ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZEeLobZMUMU.htmlsi=CT66-pp-sueQUoIy&t=226
Tbf, Ironmace has said a lot of shit. but they aren't fixing anything until they get some people in that office that knows how to code and not break shit that requires a rollback shortly after
I am still able to dodge the shielder using this method but the berserker has been updated as of a few days ago. What class & movespeed are you playing with?
I think something they need to change for enemies attacks that require you to crouch AND look down. Is to only require you to crouch. Having to look at the floor is just annoying, alongside for instance the frost giant(and many other enemies) have potential follow up attacks that you need to look at them for to be aware of what is coming. Looking down just makes this more aggravating to do and a bit sickening from all the jerky camera movement you have to do.. All they have to do is change it so you can just crouch. But dont have to look down(or up).
I absolutely hate this map and the berserker. No matter what I do he hits me(barbarian). He also goes berserk and runs and swings nonstop for like 10 seconds. Didnt see that in your video.
You confuse me when you reference counter clockwise and clockwise. I’m not sure what you’re attributing that to when you say it. From whose perspective? I think you should address things from the players persoective since that’s who we are
Pin this: The Ice skeleton guardsman also has a left upwards diagonal. To avoid it, strafe left and look down + crouch or space it as it doesn't move the mob forward too much. Ty for the video nonetheless 👍
They need to make all enemies dodgeable without a MS requirement. Also, they need to fix skeleton spear & axe horizontal swing to be consistent on level ground when crouch dodging. Or has anyone figured out to make the horizontal swing consistent? Never mind I think I found it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SO7_T9EEirY.html
