This piñata cake was made for a "smash session" for a child's birthday. So of course I had to fill it with candy too :) it was made with vanilla cake and vanilla buttercream, both colored to look like a piñata. For the recipes I use go to shelfiesweets.wordpress.com

Can you approximate the dimensions of the body? I am trying to replicate it and I only have 9 x 13 pans (but two of them) I am wondering if it will still work?

Hello! 9x13 is what I used as well!. I used two pans and then just cut it into pieces to make the size of the cake I wanted. I'm not too sure of the exact dimensions, since it was made from just basic shapes (squares and rectangles), I just eye-balled it until it looked proportional before frosting it. I then took it back apart and assembled with frosting

The cake is just a vanilla sheet cake and the frosting is american buttercream!

It took a pretty long time, but i think part of it was because I kept switching between the colors! I would say about 2/3 hrs of decorating
