How to downgrade the iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3-7.0!

The iPhone 4 can be downgraded to any iOS version imaginable, whether that's iOS 4, 5, 6, or even 7.0, it can be done! In this video, I'll be showing how to do just that!
Specifically, you can downgrade to:
4.3.3, 4.3.5, 5.1.1, 6.0 - 6.1.3, and 7.0 - 7.1.1

Unfortunately, My iPhone 4 was made in 2012, and i can't downgrade it to ios 4.3. I can downgrade it maximum to 6.1.3 😢😭

6.1.3 ones was released in March 2013. You mean 6.0 or 6.0.1 or 5.1 or 5.1.1?

you probably have an iPhone 4s. it’s pretty hard to find out which one is it when you look at it for the first time. and yeah, you can downgrade 4s model only to 6.1.3

The 2012 iPhone 4 can be downgraded to as low as 6.0, though 6.1.3 would be the better option if you prefer a more stable experience.

You cannot use the GSM-2012 iPhone 4 with this downgrade. I have attempted to downgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 4 with S0meiyohsino before but have failed on MacOS Mojave; is that too new?

Mojave is too new, and you can’t go any lower than iOS 6.0 with a 2012 model. :)

I still have an iPhone 4S that came with iOS 9.3.5 but I was able to downgrade it to iOS 6.1.3. I also have an iPod touch 1st generation from 2007 thats still on iOS 1.1.5

From what I can tell, you can't use macOS 14 to do this, as the added securities in newer macOS versions break the process.

Great video and great channel :) By the way, Legacy IOS Kit has recently appeared, with which you can downgrade in a few clicks, jailbreak and much more (not only for the 4th iPhone). If you can - make a video about this utility, I think it will be useful. :)

Hey, for some reason, I couldn’t get the downgrade to work but when I went to restore it back to iOS 7 it’s now refusing to restore. It looks like it’s restoring, but soon as the restore is done, it goes back to iTunes recovery image

I would suggest putting your device in DFU mode to restore your device. Press and hold the power button and home button for 10 seconds while plugged in. After that, let go of the power button, but keep holding the home button for another 10 seconds. Your iPhone should display in iTunes or the Finder, and you can restore it from there. If this doesn’t work, your device could be physically damaged, however, this downgrade cannot cause that, it would have just exposed a pre-existing issue.

No, but with 8 gig moddle your phone is iphone 3,2 sp use Sundown on windows.

I downgraded a cdma iPhone 4 to iOS 5 with legacy iOS downgrader, and my phone came out in 2012, don’t even think iOS 5 ran on it originally

There are methods to put your iPhone into DFU mode without a home button using redsn0w. You’ll need an older Mac for this to work.

The iPhone 4S does not support this exploit. You can try using redsn0w though to make a DFU mode IPSW, and then restoring it that way.

Yes for the music and movies but most but not all apps will work, too can fix that by downloading on a it device with same Apple id then going into the purchases section of the IOS 4 phones stored and getting it from there.

I’d suggest putting your device in DFU mode when restoring, and if that doesn’t work, try restoring from a different computer or use a different cable.

@@MattsTech Note: This tool relies on iOS 7.1.2 blobs (that's the whole reason why it's even possible to downgrade, iOS 7 has an exploit), so no it won't work on an iPod touch

It has been, indeed. I’ve simply not had the time or mental stamina to work on it. I hope to work on it more when I move out and don’t have to deal with so many responsibilities while I’m still living at home. :)
