I was devastated when I reset my PC and lost Movie Maker, because I had created some 20 slideshows etc. Searched and searched for days and couldn't find a way to reinstall Movie Maker until I found this RU-vid. I have a really light laptop that can't handle so much and Movie Maker is my only option since its easy and fast to use and Windows stopped making it and you sir has saved my life and now I can edit videos perfectly! Usually most movie maker downloads are fake or hacked and this one isn't :D. Thank you very much for your help and clear instructions!

oh man, I've just finished and setup a new pc build with windows 10 and after much setting up the system went to carry on editing with...….WHAT THE HELL!! sore chin after jaw hit desk and was mighty miffed. the photo's editor is useless and thought i'd have to get to grips with new editor and thought I might as well see what others were using and whilst searching came about channels getting movie maker which looked like hassle then seen your channel...WHAT A BLESSING one is truly grateful after easily getting it installed and working fine Thanks so much

Downloaded this on 3/6/20 - link still works! I just wanted to THANK YOU for this tutorial to download Windows Movie Maker SAFELY! There are other tutorials out there but I didn't trust that they were legit and free of malware or of the actual Live Movie Maker program. Afraid of getting malware, at first I hesitated to follow these steps but your other tutorials have helped me in tweaking my new windows 10 PC to my satisfaction, so I decided to trust that this was safe and went ahead and did it. I was not disappointed at all! I think Live Windows Movie Maker is one of the best out there and I'm so glad I wasn't forced to learn another editing program on my new windows 10 computer. Again, THANK YOU!

I believe in morals and ethical behavior, so I make the best reasonable attempt to offer safe download options. Honestly, if I can make a tutorial that will be slightly more involved but does not require any downloads, I will show it. I don't host these sites or programs, but I do vet them to the extent that I would be willing to use any links on my tutorials on my personal devices. No download is 100% safe from the Internet, especially when people click ads and are not paying attention to the correct download button, websites change buttons, etc. No short URL's leading to 10 ads you have to click through (though I do have a few videos with shortened Google-URL's, they are safe and I don't have any monetization for them). No disguised referral/affiliate links that a ton of channels have. I think it is a pretty good standard on this channel that few people on RU-vid in general match.

I already downloaded MMLive but after my first school project for some reason the windows update messed the program. it says "C:\\Windows\SYSTEM32\MFCORE.DLL is either not designed to rub on Windows or it contains an error... Thanks so much for this tutorial!! I downloaded it and it works for me! Downloaded today 4.2.2020. My old computer died last year and I had MLMM on it and loved it. I don't need anything fancy and it got the job done for me. I was SUPER bummed to find out that MS doesn't have it or support it anymore. I tried using the video editor that comes with Windows 10 (which is on my new computer) - it was weird and awkward and had less features than the other one. I had to download some other free software, but didn't like it either. Months later - I decided to see if there's any way to get it again and your video popped up. Took a chance and downloaded and I'm soooooo happy I did!!!!!!! THANKS!!! IT WORKS. I got the editor I know and love back!!

Alright Guys, I found an solution (Big Thanks to user potato pc). It turns out you need to turn off the WI-FI for it to work. I tested it out and it works! (Once again thanks to potato pc)

hi, I got a similar message (different code though). In my case, in spite of the error message Movie maker WAS installed. Go to Win10 "search", and look for Movie Maker. For me it was there, installed. so you just launch it, and thet's it.

Used to have a Windows 7 and mainly used Movie Maker to edit my videos due to its simplicity yet functionality. Then got a new Windows 8 computer because my old computer was slow and OBS stopped supporting Windows 7. Now, I can get back to making videos, perhaps.

Thank you for providing these links and the tutorial! A couple days ago, my old laptop from 2016 went ka-put. Fortunately, all of my documents were saved, but the programs I had on my previous computer had to be re-downloaded. When I found out that Windows Live Essentials was gone with the wind, I was crushed...that is, until I saw this information. Now I can use it once more! Excellent tutorial. My Windows Movie Maker disappeared from my Windows 7 laptop after I bought a smart phone, which I suppose is linked to Windows 10. Guy, I did not have a "Done!" message in the end of installation. Instead, I had a "problem message" and the program asked if I´d like to try again. I tried and I received the same problem message installation. However, after closing the installation window and search for Windows Movie Maker, there it was! I loaded it and it worked anyway!
