Finding TDC Compression stroke is easily verified by watching the INTAKE valve, open then close as you approach the TDC mark, while turning in the direction of rotation.
shenaniganz krew 22 I don’t think rocky Mountain atv stocks oil filters for the dr for some reason. I had to purchase mine from my local dealer but I’m sure some of the other big sites would prolly have them. Revzilla maybe, possibly jp cycle? Also can probably find them via eBay if you don’t have a shop close by.
Hello. I am having a bogging issue with my DR200 past idle. Would a valve check/adjustment be needed for this if I have already gone through and through my carb?
@@DirtRider22a thank you sir! Would you have any advice on where to turn after I check that? I actually just ordered a carb off of Amazon because I was having the same issue with the stock carb. So I put the new carb on and it still seems to be the same issue. Starts and idles great, but right when I turn the throttle she wants to die. Would that be a main jet issue? Or needle issue? Thanks in advance.
@@SlurpyMurph I would guess it’s a main jet problem but I’ve also seen similar issue traced back to the cdi box, but I would try everything else before I started looking into the electronics personally
@@DirtRider22a awesome. Can I ask what your point of attack would be? Take off carb check inside for any obstructions. The new carb did come with an extra main jet label (145) I’m wondering if I should try that?
You don’t have too, if you do remove it then it’ll be easier to turn the engine over by hand because you won’t have any compression and you can stick something in the hole to verify the piston is at top dead center if your unsure
As long as you are confident you did it correctly then the extra valve noise isn’t a problem, if the valves were tight then you may just be noticing the extra noise because you aren’t use to hearing it.
