Please can you do a video of how the belt is joined. I once made one wrap top but I had difficulty in fixing the belt and also how to successfully tie it at the back without having any funny puffiness... Thank you,your tutorials have been helpful

No, don't trim it. Just pleat or gather gather the arm hole length of the sleeves

What is the best material to make this and how much?

Any Medium-weighted woven fabrics will be fine. I used a cotton fabric that was gifted to me by @minerva. Medium knit fabrics that doesn't have more than 20% stretch should be fine too, but if you're considering using that, you'll need to adjust the measurements slightly as the pattern was for wovens.
