Yeah, the only way to get better is just too keep doing it. You can listen to people tell you how, but all it really does is go in one ear and out the other. Like you said it's the subtle things and values that make a drawing or painting go too the next level. Nice drawing I haven't drawn in a while, I just paint whenever I do something. Drawing and useing pens and inks are a whole different discipline and so fun. Painting suits me more because it's so care free, you have to plan a drawing or ink drawing so it has a different feel to it I find.

In January I'm going to Antarctica. While im there I really want to comnect to the things that I see. Instead of just taking pictures I wanted to paint the landscapes and wildlife I come across. But as cold as its going to be My paint will freeze. Any tips for those of us changing our focus from the brush to the pencil?
