Most of the time I look at subjects from life or from pictures. When I am very familiar with something then I may do it from memory or create my own.

I like soft, synthetic brushes. I do have a few different ones as some paint more than others and I switch depending on what I want to do.

It might seem like a small thing, but I appreciated the gentleness of your vocal tone, because learning new drawing techniques can sometimes be stressful n it is always nice to be able to relax into new experimentation. Hello! You can definitely do both. Of course takes more work but it can be done. And most likely you will make your living off the engineering work, specially at the beginning. But if you keep doing art, little by little it may become something you can live by and then switch gradually from one to the other as far as your living income. But for now stay in your engineering school and also do and learn as much art as you can! Good luck!

Could you show how you draw differnt type of clouds? Like darker storm clouds and any other cloud you can usually see?
