I am lost for words to describe your work but that they are true masterpieces. Just love watching your tutorials. Keep up the awesome work. Greetings from, Melbourne Downunder 😊👍🇦🇺
Jono, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this! I'm excited to try and looking forward to your next tutorial. I cannot express enough gratitude for this, and for all your work of course, but for the tutorials, THANK YOU!
This video I am thankful. Eye detailing is everything I needed to understand... And not just that how you block the shadow and blending with tools are I never knew.... Thank you
What a great video! My favorite part is how you explained everything. You gave concepts to focus on rather than a step-by-step tutorial will really help nail the concepts and techniques and remember them rather than just following directions. Can't wait I until the next!
Thank you so much for this! I have no idea in the direction for my art, I'm learning and just trying different things at the moment. I found the eye brow really difficult lol 🙂
Dude, loving your stuff, saw you at red sofa, nearly came over to say hi, and pick your brain a bit... but i digress, your personal time is yours alone. Thanks for sharing on this platform tho, such incredible work...
Fantastic!! Thank you for sharing the step by step procedure of your work!! The telling of each detail is so helpful for me to improve my work! Your talent is amazing!❤
May I ask how much time you spend on a drawing of that size? Would it be different if you were drawing an unfamiliar subject vs a familiar one? I think your emphasis on a “plane of sharp focus” is one reason why your drawings look like photographs. Thanks for these tutorials showing your process!
Tremendous work, you have an incredible gift and talent. All your creations are truly incredible. I have been following your channel for 2 years. Congratulations and hugs from Chile.
What grade of graphite are you using to capture the darkest parts of the eye... Would it be a 9B or 14b and also what Brand of graphite pencil did you use to grind down your powder. I'm currently using a FABER CASTELL PITT OIL BASED PENCIL 14B, however, I'm having a very hard time getting it to go jet black. The dark tone looks very granulated on the current drawing I am working on. Your reply is much appreciated or if there is anyone else within this thread that could shed some light on my question would be very helpful and much appreciated?
JONO ERES GENIAL. UN CONSEJO CUANDO APOYES LA MANO NO LO HAGAS SOBRE UN PEDAZO DE PAPEL, HASLO SOBRE UNA REGLA DE MADERA GRANDE, ASI SERÀ MAS COMODO PARA NO UNTARTE DE CARBON. SALUDOS HERMANO DESDE CARACAS VENEZUELA.
Cool drawings can you teach me how to draw so realistic and making it real i know how to draw some things but not as realiatic as your artwork outstanding and inapiring
One thing I like about your videos, collectively, is that you try to explain your thinking, including the parts that you probably wouldn't think consciously about if you weren't making a video. Learning the technical aspects of drawing or any other medium takes research, work and, especially, time. But learning how and when to make the key artistic choices that are needed to make a piece your own and/or to elevate it beyond the ordinary is something that we don't hear a lot about on RU-vid (or Patreon, for that matter). But, you do seem to make an effort at this. Thank you for that.
I'm just curious, how do you avoid the glare of the graphite pencils? Everytime when I try to film a video using graphite pencils, I can't avoid the glare of it..
Graphite can be tricky when it comes to shine. I’ve learnt a few techniques to help, but the main way I get around this is by being really careful with my lighting when I photograph my work 🙂
This is just what I've been hoping you would do, I've learnt more than I expected to and I really appreciate the time and effort you put into it...loking forward to the next episode very much... and thank you
Greetings depending on your time zone JONO! I have some questions, I showed your videos to my friends and both they and I were fascinated by your talent (I was more like envy lol) and we had some doubts: 1 - Do you use references to make your videos or draw everything apart from the head?; do you usually use the grid?; 2 - What paper do you use, how many weights is it and why do you always wet it?; 3 - And what kind of advice would you give us to get to have the talent equal to yours? Waiting for the answer and thank you very much for showing your videos, directly from Angola (country), a hug.
Hey, Tito! I photograph my own reference images. I use the grid for larger drawings. I use Arches Aquarelle 300 gsm hot pressed satin grain paper. This video on my channel explains why I wet my paper in more detail ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8A3pqKMyILU.html 🙂 My advice would be to practice as much as possible. Hope this helps!
The every detail you give in your drawing is great, it feels like the eye is looking at someone, it's like real, good to see beautiful art of yours🤗🤗🤗🤗☺️☺️
Just gorgeous, Thankyou. I also Shared this with my oldest granddaughter, who is very self conscious of her drawings, not realising she’s doing amazing drawings considering she’s self taught, and that all artists start the same way,… Have you seen Dorothy Hall’s book called ‘Iridology’ Jono? The whole book is of irises. Self explanatory.
