Out of all Mr. Yeager's vids, this is the most helpful, and yet it's buried. I've been through almost all of his stuff, and this just came up. Exceedingly helpful, esp. considering another tip from Mr. Yeager - the attacker will also have tunnel vision, and moving >30 degrees might put you in their periphery momentarily. I feel like this 6 min video is worth a training class! I'll be yelling "stop" so much now.....

My fear is that shouting "stop" is sure to provoke a response from a perp who already has a weapon drawn in some direction or other; once you shout "stop" you are almost surely compelled to fire especially if he swings your way. Between "stop" and the perps response you only a split second (if that) to implement a "go", I wouldn't want to weigh that situation and "stutter" my life away. Would the phrase "freeze" offer at least some legal protection seeing that if the perp swings in your direction - that would be a command that was ignored?

I've had a change of heart on this comment because of watching a video on a guy who carries in condition 3 (Chamber empty, full magazine in place, hammer down) - here is my comment to him "My argument against condition 3 is the following - A condition exists where the bad has his gun drawn and is threatening someone other than you (family member, store clerk, etc.) You draw and proceed to rack the slide. Due to the noise, the bad guy's attention is drawn to YOU! His drawn weapon will automatically rotate in your direction. Whether you intended to fire or not, at that point with a weapon now pointed at you, you will have no other choice but to fire. So, originally the bad guy may have taken what he wanted and fled, but because of the racking noise you made it turn into a gun fight. The noise of the racking could have been replaced by a command "stop" "freeze" or something along those lines (like James Yeager's drawing technique) even in condition 2 - at least issuing a command instead of instigating a gun fight gives you a legal leg to explain why you took action."

I look at your manipulations with weapon (grip, standing pozition, asymmetric triangle, relaxed recoil management...) and I think, are you sure, that you did not take cource of pistol handling in Frunze Academy in Russia? :))))
