Very simple drawing of a 12 blade centrifugal compressor wheel. The blade profile and sizing in this tutorial are all free handed. DYODD

I like the attitude the way you talk.. Good Explanation.. you should make the whole assembly including shafts snap rings and turbine blades as well for a radial compressor of ABB company...

hey there @House of Boost ^^ I am working on building my own machined MiniJetEngine ^^ Do i have to mill my own in a 5-axis cnc machine? or can I buy a compressorwheel on the internet, that is made in first line for turbochargers? cuz they look the same and the booth just compress air and redirect it into the Turbo/JetEngine ^^ Greetings Jannis :)

JannisD you can just buy one online and save some time. I have piles of used wheels sitting here too that you can have for next to nothing if you want

It depends on many factors. But to simplify, blade profiles are a compromise between outright strength (determined by FEA models) and aerodynamic efficiency (determined by CFD and thermodynamics)

@@RHBTurbochargers I was aiming more towards the taper relative to trim, if one was to cater to a compressor housing/existing architecture. If that value was something that I could punch in as a formula. I'll do some reading to see if the curve follows trim in a consistent fashion or if its more particular to application.

@@Sams88990 There's actually a lot of freedom in determining the correct trim profile for a fresh design or even a retrofit. A rudimentary approach would be to manufacture a wheel and experiment with different "trims" to determine surge and choke limits etc. Most often CFD is used to find limits until it's simply not enough and real world testing must be done. But no, there's no formula for finding the correct trim for a wheel. Lot's of variables and it comes down to what you are trying to achieve. Hope this helps
