As for the accordion, not exactly the beat choice for impressing the ladies. Trust me I know, my father insisted I learn how to play it (in the 1970s). Along with a military buzz cut and what we called birth control glasses in the army (black plastic framed way before they were retro cool) I never had to worry about dating, and my parents didn't have to worry that I'd end up getting a girl pregnant.
