Started out about 1-2 months ago and after looking at various different people/videos i always find myself coming back to your videos. Not only do you go into every little detail, you explain it so well that i can grasp it after watching it through once and get back to designing my own stuff. Thank you so much for the great content. Looking forward to future videos!
I just started drawing graffiti and it’s this kind of hobby where I don’t put any expectations on myself. This is what makes it fun. I miss my childhood because all my hobbies were easy back then since I wasn’t trying to be great and perfect. I love watching people like you that just go with the flow yet share all their knowledge online. Makes me motivated to start once the semester gets a bit more chill.
So good to hear and see someone using the same process that I used when I was self taught. Back in the 80’s we didn’t have the Internet. We had one book. Subway Art or w/e it was called….. and it was so hard to get ahold of. Then we got just one page in Source magazine when that came out later. So it’s nice to see that I wasn’t alone in my creation process and there isn’t a wrong and right…. The deeper B-Boys with their classic style sometimes would give us wild style guys a bit of shit when we broke away from their style. Back then they weren’t having none of that where i was from. Our weird throw ups and wild style lettering was fine after all. It’s weird that I’m 47 now and in a deeply professional career and and I still will do some quick throw ups on white boards I’m offices here and there and people are always commenting lol. I still have tons of caps laying around. After seeing this vid I’m now itching to go out and get up a bit. Great vid, keep it up! Subbed!
this actually helped me so much. I never really had the motivation to even try to improve anything other then my tags but I finally decided hey maybe I should, I find it really awesome and I'm hoping to get a lot better through this year.
Man i have been trying to master lettering since 3 decades believe it or not and never got my hand on the "magic formula". This tutorial is the every first that is actually extremely helpful. Repositioning the dots keeps the original letters still in place and im kinda starting to get the grasp of it. Will still require an insane amount of practice obviously. Thanks so much for this. I would really love to see a tutorial where you go into even more detail about changing the basic shape of letters in a way that they still keep their core features (of being well..a letter)
This is a really good video.wish i had this back in the early 80s.i use to just check out how everyone else was taggin and just like tried copying them and came up with my own style.just playing around doodling in school.you dont wanna bite someones style but use it for a reference when starting out.i would just tag my name and outline it just like you are explaining and built off from that.but you are way better and more in dept than i was and are.much respect.the "s" was always one of my hardest letters to do.all my letters were tight but the "s".it just didnt work.so i would just make a reg.one.it made a unique piece.
Since I couldn't have it, I stopped drawing, but when I came across this video, I started to enjoy it again, because you helped me a lot! Thank you very much, I never knew how to draw letters Etc... Thank you very much indeed! ❤️
Really enjoyed ur video!!! Been quite a few years ( was 14yrs old when 1st did letters n now am 52yrs old) since I have drawn out any kind of graffiti style lettering...glad to see that there are still peepz out there that enjoy the style of art. As I mentioned haven't really drawn any graffiti style art in some years. Loved the video...til next tyme...keep those cre8ive juices abrewing!!!
i am just perusing these graffiti vidz here on youtube. but you are a straight teacher man. dig the vibe. i feel like im learning and feel confident that when i try this stuff i'll have some idea of what im doing, cuz ur explanation is thorough. keep it up
This is actually fascinating. I’m coming at this from the perspective of projection mapping and VJing and think there’s a lot of inspiration to be had here, especially as i’ve always had an interest in this style
amazing tutorial, really well spoken and demonstrated and appreciate the transfer of knowledge. I have a long way to go but this is a great place to start. THANK YOU!
I've been doing graffiti for over 4 year's but I started just doing tags around a year ago and now my actual style looks terrible and I am just learning a whole new style by using this vid as reference
Not only do you teach how to do certain techniques quickly, you add dimension and creativity...Keep it up! I'm so happy to be able to learn from one of the best
Appreciate the detailed instructions for starting Graffiti lettering but one can use these structures to play on. I haven't seen anyone do a video like this...well I have but not as well as yours. I love drawing letters!! I never know what I'll end up with because ideas will start to flow and as you have said just play around.
Awesome tutorial man! Probably one of the best tuts for explaining the thought process that goes into each letter. I would love to see a tutorial on adding the final outline/stroke and finishing touches like highlights, extra little lines, and background shadows. I've watched the letter B video from a few years ago, but I feel your style is much more polished and so clean looking now it would be great to see a revisit to finishing because this tut is so good at the construction part. Also, these types of letters are a lot easier for me to practice than the letter B tut. Thanks dude!
Thanks for the feedback boss! I have lots to say about the finishing off a piece haha I was almost tempted to start mentioning it here. I’ll definitely do a deep dive on it!
Brilliant. My go to art style has been watercolour but I'm working on an abandoned space piece with graffiti and I think I'm hooked. Great video, very helpful. Thanks.
thanks SIVE this helped alot i was trying to do letters without tracing around the letter i wanted to so it was alot harder and i never really added style to anything so thanks this helped me so much :)
Brilliant explanation, just stumbled on your video - new sub. Practicing art all my life and this is one of the best break downs of Graffiti. Rad art - thank you. 💚✊💚
Only discovered your channel due to a school assignment, and damn am I glad for that. I usually just draw character designs but there’s something so mesmerizing about graffiti style art and your videos are incredible for inspiration. I’m definitely gonna keep watching your videos.
look at how he explains his style. This is what I am saying. Every letter and section of graffiti has a meaning. I honestly love seeing artwork on dull ass walls and trains. People who think this is vandalism just needs to understand that they're not just going outside taking drugs, but giving a meaning to the world. I think not climate change will end the world, but the dull streets, walls, and trains, will. ❤ respect to this very man.
This is the video I've been looking for.. The best video I've saw yet.. I learned a lot...going to watch it again.then start practicing..thank you.. Ricky..Atlanta, Georgia
This was SO helpful! I’m a tattoo apprentice and I’m working on lettering, before this I have never done graffiti type lettering. I will definitely be checking out your other videos!
Legendary video dude perfect please make more videos in this formula it’s fantastic and only 2 years old and ur most viewed!!! Very impressive this exact style is bound for success!
SIVE IS GOD!!! ( just a doff of the hat to ya bud!! from an old school (61 yrs. old) guy. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way you explain your methods and help bring the art into a more achievable dream for anyone who loves, admires and is generally in awe of the sheer artistic nature of graffiti lettering. PLEASE keep em coming brah!
First video I’ve watched as I wanna get into this to possibly do with tattooing later on. Awesome tutorials and so easy to understand man. You clearly know what you’re doing 👌🏼
Your tips and how to’s are so good they have helped me so much. I feel like in other tips from other people go from something simple then a huge jump to something difficult and don’t focus on a certain style
