David Hembrow How did you input the audio frequency? Surely not a voltage divider like you'd normally use with an oscilloscope?

There's no need for a voltage divider. Simply connect the left channel audio to the usual Y axis input to the 'scope and the right channel audio to the X axis input (or the other way around - I can't remember which resulted in the same image rather than a rotated image). Then adjusted the gain on the scope (volts per division) for each channel. The result is the same picture as you see above. Adjusting the volume control on the device playing the video also adjusts the size of the image on the scope. Obviously you need to press whatever buttons on your scope will disconnect the time-base from the X-axis so that you can feed this signal in instead.

A very "loud" and low frequency signal can heat up the voice coil w/o sufficient air movement to help dissipate the heat, but with all the full (human) audio range content in this, I think it's safe. But IANAEEOAE (I am not an electrical engineer or audio engineer)
