Thank you! I’m going to try this out. It’s hard to find a tutorial for realistic water with colored pencil, I’ve only seen paint tutorials for water!

Hi Kirsty, great tip, I use Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer as underpainting, works the same only then with water. Questions: if you set the photo to high saturated, do you also use THOSE colors in your color picker as underpainting? or do you use that colors at the end as a kind of glazing over your work?
@KirstyRebeccaFineArt
@KirstyRebeccaFineArt 2 года назад
I do that sometimes too! I find the Albrecht Durer is a bit different, not as easy to control, and the colours bleed into each other/around the paper quite a bit (especially on Pastelmat) - but I do love the effects you can get with them under coloured pencil 😊 I have a normal version of the reference which I use for most of the painting, but I pull out the colours I like from the high saturation to subtly add to the artwork throughout the process 😊

Hi Cristina, I currently only have one horse (which is on the Gold membership) but I do plan to draw more horses in the future! If you join on the Gold level, you will have access to all of the tutorials on the Silver level as well 😊 www.kirstyrebeccafineart.com/krfineartacademylibrary This is a link to a library of all of the tutorials you'll have access to!

Hi. I'm thinking to join to your Academy to learn more with you. I paint with Polychromos, oil pastel and dry pastel. And also start with aquarelle with the NeocolorII. But I don't use all the material you suggest. I don't use solvents and the paper is from Canson. So. I believe it's ok to join even I don't use all the materials. But I would like to have your opinion. Thanks
@KirstyRebeccaFineArt
@KirstyRebeccaFineArt Год назад
I do have a few tutorials of coloured pencil where I don't use solvent (but it is very rare for me not to use solvent!) I do recommend getting some solvent if you plan on joining for the coloured pencil tutorials - they have natural solvents like Zest It if you are worried about toxicity! When it comes to pastel, I mainly use Pan Pastels and pastel pencils on Clairefontaine Pastelmat (the paper is very specific and I do not recommend any other paper because you won't be able to achieve the same results otherwise!) I know it can be a little more expensive but it's definitely worth it If you are still not sure about joining the KR Fine Art Academy, you are welcome to join and try out the tutorials! If you don't enjoy the tutorials (or you can't follow along with your own supplies) then let me know within 30 days and I will refund your membership for you 😊

@@KirstyRebeccaFineArt Yes I will. Fr now with my materials bcause I have a lot of paper and mediuns.I have a question if you don't mind. I use color pencil color soft II aquarelle carand'ache and neocolor II . I'm exploring this mediuns because I found them beautiful and fun. My question is, for any kind of aquarelle mediuns if you recomend spray to protect. And what could it be? Thanks so much I love your videos.

Thank you for this tutorial. I don't understand "archival". English is not my mother tongue and I tried to find a translation, but what I found doesn't fit to your words. Can you please give me a short explanation, or perhaps a synonym for the term? Thanks
@KirstyRebeccaFineArt
@KirstyRebeccaFineArt 3 года назад
Archival art supplies/materials means that they are high quality, durable, won't fade/discolour/disintegrate over time Lightfast means that the colours of the pigments in paint/pencils etc won't fade/discolour over time Kids/student grade art supplies are usually not archival or lightfast (which is why they are cheaper) Professional/artist grade art supplies are usually more expensive but are better quality (it costs more to make archival and lightfast products) I hope that makes sense!
