Its great to have a wonderful reminder that we can use pen for cards vs more crafty ideas. Getting back to the basics if you will but its not really basic at all. I love these designs.

If you plan on getting a Cricut you can find plenty of projects in design space that are all ready to go and easy to make that you can try out. If you are still not sure what to do there are plenty of how to videos. I have faith that you can do it. Even if you do not have a Cricut making cards are not that hard. There are different levels and styles you can try, and I am sure the receiver would be happy to get a handmade card from you, even if it was on copy paper.
I'm new to your channel, and I'm hooked already. You have a wonderfully friendly demeanour. I'm so excited to get started using your tips and examples, but I have to wait for Santa to deliver my machine 😅 In the meantime, I think I'll binge watch your videos ❤
Thank you for this. Other than the thickness of the pen and the font used, is there anything else I can do to get solid lines instead of a stroke around the letters?
I’m looking for the answer to this too! I always find designs I like and when I go to draw they turn into bubble letters, not single lines. Not sure what the trick is!
I bought two packs of pens, and placed them upside down for storage, still in the sealed package. When I went to use them, they were all dried up or something and no ink would flow. Michaels would not let me return them. I wondered if running hot water over them would work. Any suggestions?
Hi Jennifer! Thanks for this wonderful video! Can the different portions of the card etc, be fill in entirely with the same color pen..or marker? Like the cat bear etc? Can this be done on sticker paper as well? If so can I do one complete sticker with part pen and then print and cut? Like a teddy bear in the center of sticker print and cut, and gold and pink balloons in pen etc? I am quite new and have never used pens etc. thanks so much!!!

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you convert your drawing into a single-line drawing for your Cricut: Open Cricut Design Space and upload your drawing. Use the tools in Cricut Design Space to clean up your image. Remove any background and unwanted areas. This will help in reducing double lines. After cleaning up, save your image as a "Cut Image." This step is crucial because it helps in converting your drawing into a single line and set to draw. Sometimes, double lines occur because the image has an outline and a fill. To avoid this, ensure that your image is set to a single path. You can do this by using the "Contour" tool to hide any unwanted lines. If you still see double lines, you might need to go back and further clean up your image or adjust the paths.
It depends on what types of markers you are using for a specific canvas. Or are you asking that you want to draw on a canvas and then paint it? Here is the tutorial for more details. jennifermaker.com/how-to-draw-with-cricut/
What causes double lines of I upload and image and I select draw with pen on my cricut. How can I get it back to single line drawing or writing? Thanks in advance 😊
When you upload an image and select "draw with pen" on your Cricut, double lines can occur because the Cricut is designed to outline the shape rather than fill it in. This means it will draw around the edges of your text or design, creating a double line effect. To get it back to single line drawing or writing, you need to change the font or design to one that is specifically designed for single line drawing.
When I click "pen" it returns just the outline of my text, any tips for making it so the cricut can write it in one go and not give me an outline of what I want it to write?
We designed and made them on our 3D printer. There are two styles -- the one on the left uses PVC pipes, so it’s height adjustable to your needs. The one on the right is all 3D printed except for the table, which is a piece of wood screwed to the legs. Both meet the requirements in Cricut’s Safety Instructions for “a flat and stable surface” as the Cricuts are just sitting on stable tables.
Can you please tell me why my new cricut machine only cuts the design on one side? I'm pretty upset as it's all new and I am using my new cardboard and then can't weed it as only one side of each item has cut,the other doesn't even show on the backside. I really like the drawing as I can't stuff it up. 😢😢 Trying to make some simple designs and adjusting the depth and what I'm using as I learned from you is still not helping.I love this machine and don't want to give up. Please Help 🙏
I have. The machine was in the process of cutting when the light came on and it stopped. I unplugged the machine and cleared out the debris, plugged it back in and it was fine.
